I don't know why I said 5/16" earlier. Was too early in the morning to math.

I have the tubing, tubing bender, compression fittings, and full port valves for both 3/8" and 1/2". I'm itching to do something to the truck, and this is low hanging fruit.

Come to think of it, should I have SS braided lines too. I think the ID is teflon-coated.

Earlier you said 3/8" might help improve fuel filter flow... Wouldn't 1/2" (-8AN), like what you have) be better?

Yes, it would increase the volume, as the pressure stays the same. However, going to -8AN feed line, without a fuel rail to match will still restrict the flow of volume back down. Best bet is to do 3/8" the whole say, unless you come across a fuel rail.

    Finally got the last piece:

Sorry, this should be at the end instead of the male adapter:

Now it’s been installed for few weeks. There happened to be a good mounting point (clutch hose bracket) for 3” stainless steel clamp.

Do you have parts numbers and links to the parts you bought? I'm going down this route to upgrade my fuel pump and would like to have a clean set up like yours. Thanks!

Old post, but I'm in the process of installing this URD mod and was looking for pictures of how other members had done it. Especially the dressing of the external fuel filter. Loginfailed, I couldn't help but notice that in your image the fuel filter seems to be the wrong way around. Did you run into any issues having this orientation or did you catch and fix it?

If his filter flows in the same direction as the K&N, which I am pretty sure that it does, then it is in the correct orientation. Using the driveshaft as a point of reference for the transmission.

It is correctly plumbed in the picture and it worked as intended. However I do not use that particular setup anymore.

This is the pump setup I've put together

    This is the fuel tank

    This is the filter

    That is correct.

You must use Teflon tape, if you purchase the NPT adapter. You must. The yellow container. Fuel rated.

The ORB adapter is a good option as it uses O-rings. A bit more expensive

Has anyone fitted an aux fuel filter, while leaving the stock in tank gas filter un altered?

Would this be pointless? as the first restriction point would be the OEM in tank filter?

I ask because I am concerned with gas quality at some ran down small west Texas towns.

    A thing or two...
The only in tank "filter" is the sock on the pump inlet, which you don't want to get rid of.

I think I've seen at least one post where someone added a typical external filter to a stock engine, but it isn't something that happens often.
