Engine Cleaning

Factory decal. I was surprised too that it started to come off so easily. But with my experiences (bad) with two Dodge vehicles, I'm no longer surprised.

 

1. Light rinse from garden hose
2. Misting of simple green 50/50 mix
3. Let sit for a minute or two
4. Rinse
5. Wipe down
6. Drive around the block
7. Finish wiping down
8. Super thin layer of 303

 

Pretty much what I do. I don't use any thing like 303 just put simple green or wal mart degreaser foam. Wash it off and drive around.
Makes working on it nicer when everything isn't covered in dirt, grease and grime.

 

Make sure the engine is hot and running. Spray with a pressure washer at idle. Avoid the alternator, ECM, and squeezing the handle. Go drive for 30 minutes to dry everything out. Dress accordingly.
