    I have heard that CBPO one before from older folks even though when I joined in 96 it was MPF not CBPO. I have also heard that you should get a spare set of keys and an extra hat, leave keys in hat on desk and take off they will think you're at work somewhere because you cant leave without your hat and keys haha.

    As someone who entered active duty in the 80s, that is exactly what CBPO meant. When it changed to MPF, we simply described someone out of office as LOB - “lost on base.”

    that or if you are seen walking around you usually get hammed up doing something you dont want to do. SO carry some papers and people never messed with you ;) aka the illusion of work by constant movement ;)
