Bought my '18 back in March. Been following this thread for months. It has been an invaluable source of information as I did the TRD Pro grill upgrade on my wife's 2015 4Runner a couple of years back and always had this swap on the radar for my Taco. Of course, it was much more straightforward since I was able to order the parts without any issues.

Anyways, finally pulled the trigger this week as I have a connection in the parts industry. Warned him they'd request a VIN when he went to purchase but he didn't believe me. Sure enough they did but he somehow figured out a way around it. OEM grille, garnish, and accessories are supposed to show up at his place tomorrow :fingerscrossed: Will post a pic of the finished product here once I get it installed (probably after Thanksgiving as we aren't local to one another). I got out the door for around $270.

Thanks for everyone's help with this....

What accessories are needed? I thought you only needed those two part numbers.

I have a stock pro. The garnish has always moved a bit in the grill. Wondering if this occurs with the retrofit as well. Looks like the internal star lock washers aren't pushed in all the way.

Sadly, keeping it European parking garage compliant.
When I installed mine, I simply set a small sized socket over the Star washer and hammered it down snug. Zero wiggle.

Doesn't that result in the garnish being cocked at a bit of an upward angle? It looks like that in order to sit flush there should be a spacer of about a 1/4" between the star washer and the back face of the garnish.

You know, I’ll have to take a better look after work. I know that I thought it looked right at the time of install, and everything’s been working just fine.
All I’ve got on my phone is a straight on view.

I did mine the same way. It's tight and no issues. I'm sure it was intended to be tight.

On my SR5 (pictured below is not mine) there is a chrome ring around the grill, is that part of the factory grill?

I want to do the TRD Pro grill on mine. I have the CC sensor.

Yeah, you have to put in a VIN number. I just searched Google for one and put the first thing I found. It worked without issues and my order shipped a day and a half after ordering.

Same here... Find a vin online. Many places to buy online. Grill, garnish plate, nuts, wire should cost around 250. My shipping was around 20.

It looks like the website I ordered from is back online. Having checked their main dealer site, it appears they did a redesign which was more than likely why it was down.

When you order, you must put a VIN for a TRD Pro, even though the form says it is "optional". Search for one on Google. I searched for "Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro VIN" and the results showed a ton of vehicles that were at dealerships for sale. Try and pick one that is close to where you live. If you do not put a vin, they WILL email you and ask for it before even processing your order. Toyota made this mandatory and will not ship these out without a proper VIN.
