My 4wd is not functional. I’ll be there for comedic relief and recovery practice for all y’all. It does work. Sometimes.

By mid December 4x4 and decent tires will likely be a requirement. Depending on how much snow, as well as what route we take. But I know they are getting 6-8 inches of snow tonight/ tomorrow and it's not supposed to be super warm anytime over the next month.

Any chance you can get it fixed before Dec 15?

We call them "snow moose". Gotta find you a good "snow moose" when you visit the north country to keep you warm at night.

Ok guys, check out this route Ive been working on this afternoon: (slow day at the office )
    LINK HERE

I would say that this is very doable in two days/one night if the roads are somewhat clear. If we are bushwacking it / plowing our own trail (which may not even be possible by mid Dec) this route will be too aggressive. With that said, check out the pdf for details on one area in particular. Campsites 3 and 4 look very promising on the West side (less wind) of little Pillsbury Pond. Looks to be room enough for 6 trucks minimum at #3, more at #4. From Millinocket its approx 120 miles to those campsites on day one. FYI #3 is a designated NMW campsite, 4 is just an old log yard.

From there it would be a quick 40 miles out to the Oxbow checkpoint, then down Rt 11 back toward civilization on day two. Alternatively we back track just a bit, head North to hook up with Pell and Pell Rd then loop back down to Oxbow and out as before. Probably 60-70 miles out for that option.

Frame swap Toyota techs got lazy and routed the add and diff breather with zip ties too close to the alternator. The add breather tube was rubbing and a hole wore in, so my add filled with water and fried the motor. I put a new motor in, but all the leads and contacts are corroded. Think it’s just dead now. Weak, lame system to start... but being full of water doesn’t help matters.

That sucks man. If its just the contacts in the plug(s) that are jacked up, get a can or two of this shit on order.
    https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00006LVEU/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&th=1

Soak all the contacts down, let it sit a min or two, and then work it (either plug/unplug repeatedly, or get a brass bristle brush) then rinse with more DeoxIT. Repeat as needed. That stuff has saved me a few times in various electronics.

Figured I'd need some heavy duty tent stakes for the frozen ground, so picked up some of these nail things at wally world. But then I made a better solution at Lowes :stirthepot:
