The one thing I like is the rear hatch. Would love if my 4runner could open to the side like the old FJ's or like this one

I'm with you on those two. The front end isn't that bad either. I like the headlights alot, it just needs watered down a little and it would be a good looking front end.

Looking at it some more and I think they made a hybrid between the Wrangler and Rengade. Everytime I go back and look at it is see some little odds and ends that are neat. Like the track system in the back, that could be useful. I really like the bed slide type pull out with storage underneath. There are some neat gadgets in there... just in a really shitty package.

Agreed. Concept is good, execution is frightening. I hope they keep the concept of the concept car and kill everything else. And solid axle that bitch.

What tire can I fit on the stock suspension? Can I run 35s without a body lift and no trimming?

It's goofy and I read an article somewhere that summed it up. They are targeting the "hipster outdoors person". The I like gravel under my tires and like to day hike and maybe camp 1-2 nights but I'd prefer to spend the day in the forest and come back to town for drinks.

I really like it. Wife was looking at the website for a new vehicle and showed it to me. Only thing I would change is the front grill between the headlights and I would like lower fog lights. Other than that I think its really neat.

Ugly with a capital UGH! Toyota has lost its way in the design department. Every truck for the past few years has looked like it is made of cheap bubble plastic, and this is more of the same.

Edit: sorry for the thread necro.

Fugly POS. Looks like the Nissan Cube trying to off-road.

Is that a dryer in the back?

    Ha ha....
My thoughts for several years now. They've gone grill crazy with their cars and seem to be chasing styling trends instead of updating them mechanically with the trucks and SUVs. At least Toyotas are reliable. They have some of the ugliest vehicles on the market.

When it came time to upgrade my 04 Four Runner in 2015, the newer generation version was a step backwards in almost every area. It looks like the four runner still sells in spite of being a worse version. I can’t imagine what they’ll have to do to the next gen. They should go back to square one, build it off a short bed Taco and drop 8-10 k in price. It’s underpowered, poor handling and riding and way too expensive to take off road now. They.ll just slap another ugly grill on it, and up the price another $5k while giving it all those collision avoiding features in it. I guess that’s what sells now instead of practicality.

    Hey everyone,
I’ve been living under a rock for like 2 months and havent been on here in awhile.
But i was trying to look up this vehicle again, and I came across an article for the FT-AC
    https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.motor1.com/news/226437/toyota-ft-ac-possible-production/amp/

These are not the same vehicle, but just wondering if the AC replaced the 4X
or if both of them are coming out?
The 4X is on toyota’s website as coming soon but the AC is not. Or is the AC just going to be an upgraded Rav4?

I still like both of them, guess im in that crowd.

I have a Tacoma. I have a Jeep TJ Rubicon. I am sorry Toyota, Ford, whoever, if the top does not come off and the doors do not come off and the windshield does not fold, and does not have solid axles, then might as well stay home, it is not a real off-road vehicle.

This thing is just another half hearted attempt by Toyota to go against the Wrangler with yet another jelly bean. And, whatever new jelly bean Ford is cooking up for the Bronco, I am sure that the big selling feature will be a tailgate that open with a swipe of the foot or some silly crap like that.

And, yo, Land Rover, like WTH is with you people and those stupid looking squashed down looking things?

Toyota, how about giving us a real FJ, four cylinder diesel, removable top and doors, you know, just like a real FJ?

So, a Land Cruiser isnt a real off-road vehicle since the top and doors don’t come off and windshield doesn’t fold?
Well, i guess anybody can remove doors if they really want to.......
