The only "tricky" part of the process was getting the plastic pieces of the bumper off/on; there are a few videos of that I found online. Once that's out of the way, the installation points are obvious and easily accessed after that!

What does the stock aluminum crash bar do that the piece of 3" sq tubing won't? Do things bolt to that or could I leave that off to recoup some of the added weight of the hitch?

It has attachment brackets that the front bumper cover bolts back on to. You should reuse it like our instructions show or you'll have movement in the bumper.

We stopped carrying them, never sold. People just move the license plates up and use the bottom holes on the plate.

Any D-Ring with a pin of 7/8" or smaller works.

My recovery bar just arrived! WOOT!!! I'm going to try to get it installed this weekend! :) I've been working on rebuilding an old Warn 6000lb winch to be used on a hitch mounted carrier.

So you want a hitch receiver on a plate bumper?

Yes where the winch normally would go a bar similar to the one in this post.

Why not a receiver welded under where the witch goes so you have the functionality of both?

Dont like the idea of a permanently mounted winch these days. Though if it doesnt affect strength or clearance angle i would consider it.

You don’t have to put the winch in it.

True but then the hitch drops and you have less clearance possibly
