Just add a resonator before the muffler it’ll quiet and smooth it out.

I've got my eye on the same brand/model as I have now but just bigger in size.

This has been considered too, but space is really limited so not sure I can swing it

I crunched some numbers, I think it will be cheaper and easier/quicker to just do a flowmaster stock replacement cat. I ordered a new mid-pipe that has a new flange and O2 bung on it for $22 on Rock Auto that will bolt right up to the flowmaster cat. Then I think I'm going to go with another Walker quiet-flow muffler that's 18" instead of the 13" I have now

So I got the Walker mid-pipe and let's just say the welds were so bad that I hacked it up and just used the flange and O2 bung .

Flowmaster cat is in along with an 18" summit brand turbo-style muffler. I just have to bend up one more hanger and that can come out for final welding. I'm really happy with how this exhaust turned out and should be a quieter setup than the old 13" muffler. It took some work but this new setup is tucked up against the frame nicely to give room for the new traction bar.

Finally sourced a new slip and flange for the rear driveshaft at the axle end (thanks @Tour991). The old one is beyond worn out and in an attempt to find this mystery clunk still, I am replacing it because this is the only thing left that I could possibly think would cause it. It had a considerable amount of play in it, as you can see in the attached video.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sTUfKg9uGOQ

I threw in a new MOOG non-greasable u-joint and re-greased the splines and it *should* be good to go. It will be another few days before I can drive it again.

You've probably considered this already and I'm not really sure when the mystery clunk happens, but I get a pretty good jolt when I accelerate from a stop. I know it's coming from the locker because the teeth are locked on the reverse side, so when I accelerate, they clunk and give the driveline a jolt when they slam into the forward locked position (it's particularly bad ATM because the clutch feels a little different with the new throw-out bearing so I'm still trying to find the sweet spot that will gently let the teeth engage to the other side). I also get random clangs and jolts after cornering if the teeth don't mesh just right after unlocking. Do you think that could be it?

I get those jolts too, this one is kind of hard to explain. It really only starts when I am offroad and in one of the low range gears. At first, I thought it was something in the suspension because it only happened offroad when it flexed. When I put in these new 63s, I also checked and replaced all the shock bolts and tightened everything down and removed the traction bar (which is what I originally thought was causing it). When I test drove it after this, I could feel it on the road when just taking off in first gear (though not near as bad, but I had never noticed it on the road until this point). So the driveshaft slip and yoke was the only thing that I knew I had left that was worn out so if this aint it, then I don't know what I will do lol.

This round of shit is complete. Traction bar is in, drums completely rebuilt, and the new brake lines are on(still need to order the tabs to mount those to the axle properly). The exhaust is nice and quiet as well

Can I assume by the lack of brake fluid running down the backing plates and puddled on the ground you finally got to use the catch jars I gave you?

Was bored and not feeling that great today, so I've been watching episodes of the SRRS (Southern Rock Racing Series) on Youtube. It felt like I was looking into your future...well, except there's nothing quiet about those motors. I was thinking about how many times it will take you to visit AOP, Wind Rock, Harlan, etc... before you end up building a rock bouncer, lol.

I wouldn't mind having a buggy like those but set up for crawling with a bitty V6 and a quiet muffler, but I'm not ashamed to admit, I don't have the stones it would take to do what those guys do.

I can see myself building one some day, and the loud motor wouldn't bother me a bit with something like those bouncers haha. No windshield, no a/c or heat, no staying clean.... Might as well have it as loud as possible.

I still very much prefer what I have now though with all it's creature comforts and streetability.

Today I spliced a 10k resistor in line with the EGR sensor to fool it so it won't throw a CEL. The truck came with an EGR from the factory but the 98 motor I put in it didn't have one, but I had to put the original intake on the 98 motor and it has an EGR... Yea it's kinda a Frankenstein motor but the EGR has been deleted so I wanted to take care of the engine light. We will see if it works after some driving.

I also added a reciever tube to my trailer and bought another 9.5k winch and built my own winch tray, that way I can store the winch inside or in my toolbox to prevent theft and damage from the elements. I bought some 30ft. jumper cables with a plug so I can just run it off my F150 battery. This also allows me to run it on the rear hitch of my F150, the back of the Tacoma, or any other vehicle for that matter with ease.

F that rock bouncer death climb crap! Give me a v6/4cyl crawler or even better something with AC and I would be happy as a clam! Like what you did with the muffler, need to copy that when I build a traction bar.

Better late than never, but the brake line tabs are on. And after a year of not having a radio (had to sacrifice the antenna for the exo cage), I bought a $12 universal antenna and threw that on. Also threw on a bed light.

Flopped the truck..... Again. I was being stupid and it was a very very slow flop. Winched it back over and kept on wheeling, then drove it home. Minimal body damage that wasn't already there from the first time.

I hit an embankment/rut really hard on the front passenger corner earlier in the day which knocked the steering wheel off some. The camber sleeve on the upper ball joint was pushed up/out slightly and ended up being deformed when I pulled it out when I got home. I'll get that replaced this week.
