If possible, it would be nice to follow a thread by who posts. A “follow user in this thread” button which would then only activate a notification of that thread for me if my selected user (or users) post to that thread.
I know I can follow a user of the site or I can search a thread for what a specific user posts, but it would be nice to only receive notifications if a specific user (or users) replies a thread.
Some examples of how I would use this feature
    • When @crashnburn80 replies to his “ultimate headlight upgrade” thread I would be interested in hearing what he says.
    • @mesojdm responds to his “dome-light/ map-light” thread (as I’m anticipating the announcement of his ultimate super duper kick-ass dome light to drop).
    • @kuffer14 or any of the mods appear in the “truck painted with bed-liner” thread to give an update of how his wedding went.
    • “OP” of the week’s given dumpster fire thread makes an appearance to give an update. This would surely be amidst the scores of peanut gallery members chimming in and the countless others who say “subbed”, “in for the outcome” and “
I love checking in on the dumpster fires for the comments, but it gets to a point where I just want to hear back from the OP and maybe another person or two that he was going back & fourth with throughout the thread.

I don’t know how much of a challenge it would be to do this, but it would be a feature that I would be very happy to see.
