Currently have a stock 03 double cab 4x4 an most likely buying a buddy’s same body style but straight axle Tacoma. He previously rolled it an wants to get rid of it. The frame is straight with a trail gear kit c on it with rock assault axle:D. How hard is it to do a cab swap with out a forklift or a lift? Does anyone know how heavy the cab is? Debating on getting a few friends and lifting the cab up but not sure how heavy it would be?? Any help is much appreciated! Thanks TW!

It's doable without a car lift or forklift from what i read but not easy tho. Keep in mind, whatever cab mod the other cab have, you must do the same for yours.

Option 2: transfer all his parts over to yours. Most vehicle that were involved in an accident/rollover, the frame are usually tweaked

I’m hoping it’s not. He basically to the turn a little fast and sharp and it tipped on the passenger side.. if I use a forklift what would be the best way to fork up the cab?

Or if the frame is bent, what should I be buying in order to reuse whatever he has? Frame reinforcement plates..etc?

probably not extremely heavy with the doors/interior removed. there was an old post on TTORA where someone did a cab swap with a bunch of friends to help move it.
