Feels ridiculous to even make one of these but I kind of want to track the progress on the truck as I own it.

    2013 DCSB TRD Off-Road Prerunner
    Austin, TX
Bought August 2018, 109k miles, 1 previous owner who did all maintenance at the dealer.

Bought it at the end of last summer, as she sat (this photo makes me want to detail it soon):

First week of owning it I took it to Colorado and wheeled it on highway tires solo. Super light trails though and drove within my ability. Didn't even get stuck!

I've honestly already done most of the upgrades I wanted/needed for the use the truck sees (light duty towing, very light duty offroading, traveling). No desire to make a build even a fraction as interesting as many of the trucks here as it will be the daily driver for the foreseeable future and I'm on a college student's budget (Hook 'em). Super pleased with it and mostly trying to stay super on top of maintenance. Half a million miles before I sell it?
    Interior Mods:
    • Husky Liners (August 2018)
    • Dog Hammock in back seat (August 2018)
    • Console lid Grid-it (October 2018)
    • A-Pillar Ram Phone Mount (November 2018)
    Exterior Mods:
    • Husky front mud flaps (August 2018)
    • Tailgate Theft Deterrent (clamp) (September 2018)
    • Tacoma Emblem blackout (October 2018)
    • Bilstein 5100s at stock height (November 2018)
    • Lower Valence Light Bar install (November 2018)
    • Falken Wildpeak Tires (November 2018)
    • Bed mat
    • Bestop soft top
    • Sleeping platform in bed
    • Pop n Lock (wired into the passenger door unlock electronics)
    Future Plans:
Most of these will be after I've graduated and can throw more money into the build.
    • Roof Rack
    • Rear leafs - for towing, maybe airbags
    • CB Radio?
    • 4x4 conversion - TBD, confident in my ability to do it, not confident in throwing thousands at it

    Future Things I've decided against:
    • Lifting more than an inch or two
    • Larger tires

Light bar install this past week went great. Used Cali Raised's stealth brackets + a cheapo Amazon bar, hopefully it holds up reasonably well. Not sure about leaving the plate there, thinking of moving it to the lower part of the bumper and just drilling into the plastic.

Wildpeaks went on today. Great experience with discount tire direct. Going to find some dirt Friday and see how the combo of these + 5100s + the light bar does off road

9E74CAD3-C1F0-498E-AD82-6100FE82995F.jpg Taken a few adventures in the dirt recently. Took it out to big bend and did a couple of the easier 4x4 trails. Super smooth, never had any issues. Handful of spots that required some spotting and thought I was going to rip a mud flap off a couple of times though. Also went wheeling in some sand at a friends ranch. I’ve been very happy and surprised at how well it behaves off road, especially when it’s locked.

Also bought a used besttop and built a little sleeping platform in the bed. About to spend a week driving up to Seattle camping the whole way, and will be spending many weekends and two weeks in August in the truck. Going to finish it with a full size mattress topper and some mosquito netting.

I’ve got some maxsa traction boards on the way, just as some insurance on the forest roads in the northwest and for when I get bogged in mud here in Texas.
