? What does not caring about a show or storyline have to do with an attention span.

I watched every episode of 'LOST', didn't mean I was thrilled with the middle floundering seasons.

I binged all the seasons of Lost over the period of a couple weeks. The middle was brutal.. I dont think I could have stuck with it while it was still on air but being able to watch them consecutively made it a little more manageable.

I'm not one to bitch about a tv show often but it seems like the writers on TWD in the last few seasons have zero long term story arc for pretty much anything figured out , its like they are writing episodes apart from one another that either go nowhere or aren't believable .

Carl is dead , Rick is gone , Maggie just disappears , Judith is Josey Wales , Aaron has his arm chopped off and grows a metal one , now Jesus is dead . As much as I have enjoyed this season's episodes so far its hard not to feel like the whole thing is totally disjointed

I couldn’t agree more. But I’m not giving up hope. We’ll see where they take it from here. So far I’m not super impressed with the way things are going

Well put but I thought "All Out War" flowed pretty well. I just had my normal 'wat' moments (like many others).

Did anyone catch the Eli Roth shows later? One director made a quote I missed (short attention span there admittedly, cleaning while listening) about how he would not make his audience groan just to take up film time. "Why are all the teenagers going outside to check out suspicious noises?" I can't remember which episode, I think it was Danny Boyle.
I will admit I'm in the 'fast zombie' camp. I think that makes me a different kind of horror fan. "They're dead, move on". This show really is "How can we move on?"

I think I made up my mind about the writing of the show about the time Father Gabriel was introduced. No problem with Gilliams acting. No problem with Gabriel's conclusion he came to about the 'dead rising' but here was one of the most profound moments in human history (according to the show) and I came away unsatisfied feeling because the writers couldn't 'really' capture it.
It was their big chance. The show could have really made a statement.

edit: Yea, now you can say "It's just a zombie show" and be correct, that's all it is now. The successful zombie movies,(or at least the ones I like) while maybe not been "Sheindler's List" gave me chills and cheers about humanity.

We finally are catching up. Just watched Rick’s final episode (so I made my much anticipated return to this thread) and the biggest take away I’ve had so far this season is Aaron’s metal arm :rofl:m

Also I’m mad they made Jodi (from shameless) a zombie after 2 episodes. He would’ve made a good replacement for a male lead after Rick left. Anyone seen Black Sails? He’s awesome

Apparently Dwight is headed over to FTWD... thoughts?

My opinion is that neither show is doing all that great. Write in the FTWD cast hiking their ass to VA and merge the two shows. Both are struggling and I think it would reenergize things if they put everything together.

I can also see how that would be the final collapse if not handled properly.. so before anyone decides to get all high and mighty, I’m not saying that is the end all idea haha

Yea that was a huge mistake. I would have rather seen him take off for FTWD than get off’d by the whisperers.

Apparently he was pissed about it too because they made him go through all that martial arts training for just a couple scenes.

Yeah his fight scene was awesome then he turns around and gets done in by a no name red shirt. I don’t get it...

And why leave a cliff hanger of the group still standing there “surrounded” by whisperers if the very next thing you show in the “coming soon” is that same group walking in the hilltop with dead jesus?

They have a huge brain dead following who in their eyes can do no wrong. So they do what ever they want. Kinda like Bethesda and Fallout 76.

I don’t know how far or how long it took the group to get back to camp carrying ‘jesus’ body but there seemed to be no concern of him reanimating.
Unless I missed someone stabbing him in the head...

Seeing the third gen section forced me to get a Ford...
I'd have to rewatch the mid-season finale, but i believe they did that while he was still in the cemetery.

They domed him right before picking him up off the ground and carrying him out. I can never remember the scout’s name, but he’s the one that knifed Jesus (the one that found TWD group and took them to Alexandria)

So I'm not completely caught up since the hurricane hit right after the season premiere. But I watched a few episodes yesterday and the new one. And i swear they just keep running circles and doing the weirdest/dumbest shit with this show

Yea my wife and I were talking and she said it feels like a spin off at this point and I couldn’t agree more. I’m still entertained and definitely don’t hate it like some fans do, but it’s come a long way (not necessarily in a good way lol) since the earlier seasons.
