My dad just bought a CPO 2018 GMC Yukon SLT; GM Corporate Fleet Vehicle from Warren, Michigan with only 8K miles. The Yukon was purchased wholesale by the dealer in PA that I work for, and I got my dad a deal on it with my employee discount. At least my dad bought used so he isn't directly supporting GM.

Also, I didn't know that (A) the Klan was flourishing in Ohio, or that (B) GM was employing these Kluckers at its factories there.

And also, Henry Ford was an anti-semite and known Hitler sympathizer. He only changed his views after his antisemitism cost him a lucrative contract to supply New York City with a fleet of police cars.

Not personally but I have a buddy that bought the same truck as I did with the 5.3 and his snapped the #7 connecting rod with less than 15k miles on it.

I've always been a strong believer in GM V8 engines, but they seem to be in a tough patch right now even with those. My brother's 5.3 sprung an oil pan leak at 7k miles.

Not the end of the world, considering it's all under warranty, but still a bit concerning. Combine that with other known issues and I'm glad I won't be buying for another 5 years or more. By then, hopefully they're back on track. Aside from something with their V8, I won't buy a GM product. Wife's spark essentially needed an engine rebuild at 50k due to misfiring issues related to the head. Never really ran right, finally traded it in for her Tiguan.

GTO is still going strong though, only needed a radiator and a water pump in it's time.

Yeah, we'll see. My 5.3L feels fine, but the transmission does not instill confidence. It's a clunky sumbitch.

The V8 motors I always thought were reliable. Surprised with all these problems

I'm wondering if the Cylinder Deactivation has anything to do with it. I'm starting to hear a lot of complaints about it as the 5.3's are getting older.
