Quick question.... Could I install the shortbed decked system in a long bed without issue? Id like the extra 10" or so in the front to keep my 2nd battery and water tank mounted. Anyone see any obvious issues doing this?

I was wondering if anyone has found a way to lock the ammo cans? Thanks in advance

@Redsyota here at DECKED we would have to give this one the Magic Eight Ball "Reply Hazy". What you are attempting has never before been attempted. Like anything, all things are possible. But we have no knowledge, advice or other to offer. Not sure what that does for you and apologies that it's not more straightforward.
    Can it be done: Yes
Is it easy: We doubt it
Is it a good idea?: Probably not

You'd likely have a massive arts and crafts project on your hands that the warranty would not cover.

Haha thanks for the reply, I appreciate the direct answer. I've got a close friend looking to buy the shortbed version before spring time and if I can hold out until he takes delivery I may just do some test fitting. Either way I love the product and hopefully will end up with a system soon!

I installed my system yesterday. Drawers pull out and do not extend farther than the tailgate. I must have the ammo cans on the wrong sides. Crap.

yea thats less than an impressive amount of extension! hopefully its an easy fix. it would be good to know what it is incase it happens to anyone else.

Yup! Once I put the ammo cans on the CORRECT sides, the drawers pull out beyond the tailgate. I really wish this was more obvious in the instructions. It took about an hour to disassemble the system, swap the ammo cans, reassemble.

    Much more bettah!

Any details on how to know which side so I don’t mess up when I get it?

It's easy if you're aware of what to look for. Make sure the threaded brass inserts and the wheel bolt-holes are closest to the tailgate. I didn't think to look for these things. I thought the ammo cans were the ambidextrous. They are not marked 'left' or 'right'.

The outboard wheels will be directly opposite the inboard wheels. Simply be aware of this when installing the ammo cans. Again, it could be made more clear in the instructions (unless I missed it).

I agree with you completely, and it’s insanely annoying to get it all back apart, but I’m glad you got it figured out!! I love my system most days except when I’m trying to haul furniture.

You could make it easier on yourself to haul furniture and give it to me.
