No sound from radio...

I replaced my battery the other day and after I did the radio is no longer putting out sound. At least the speakers aren't anyway. I have an aftermarket radio and use the jbl amp still instead of the head unit amp. I checked all fuses by the ebrake and in the fuse box. Any ideas? The radio screen works fine and it shows that it's playing. Just no sound. Thanks.

 

Pump up the volume.
No JK. Is the amp getting power too? I'd venture to say that shouldn't matter but it might. I'm far from an audiophile.

 

is there a separate lead to the battery on the JBL systems?

I have an aftermarket amp (pioneer) and i have 2 fuses on the amp itself on one of the sides. not sure if the JBL amp has them but might be worth looking at.

 

I'll check it out. Its behind the right rear passenger seat right? Gotta take out the plastic?

 

I dont know i remember seeing some threads on accessing the amp before tho. I dont have the JBL system

Try unplugging the radio and plugging it back in. Might need a reset

 

No. Nothing pops up.

 

Is the only way to do this to pull it out and unplug if from the back? Or can I just unplug the battery? It's such a hassle to get my radio in right due to how many wires I have back there.

 

I pulled out the whole jbl amp and sub. I don't see a fuse anywhere. Not sure what else to do to fix this issue.

 

Hi John I realize his thread is really old but I had the same issue as you my battery died so I jumped started it-I have a after market DD stereo as well-the stereo seemed to be playing but no sound so I looked on this forum to maybe find a answer but couldnt find a fix just deadends like this thread-so I checked all the fuzes-all were good next I pulled my stereo to see if maybe something came loose-could'nt find anything so I turned off the stereo and then turned off the truck waited a couple of minutes then turned the truck back on and then the stereo and presto I had sound-so the only thing I can figure was it reset itself-Try it-it worked for me-BTW my headunit is a pioneer 3200BT-Hope this helps-Mike C...AZ

 

I know this is a really old thread but i wanted to add my two cents if this ever happens to someone in the future. My battery recently died and i jumped it. After jumping my battery, my kenwood unit worked fine but had no sound. I reset the unit and still no luck. So i pulled radio 1 and radio 2 fuse under the hood to check them out, after looking at them and putting them back in since they looked fine, i started my truck up and the speakers were now working
