    Nope.

They’re 5160s, literally says it on the box. Not sure why there would be anymore likelyhood to leak on the 3rd gen with an AAL than a 2nd gen?

I have a 3 leaf AAL with the shock. No leaking.
    Where did you hear this?

I've been shopping around for a few of these kits. Two of them had leaking rearshocks or have been rebuilt. I was wondering if the added hight in the rear was an issue. I had a 2015 Pro with this setup. Minus the aal. Bro lean was no good

My set has almost 10k miles with a 3 leaf AAL (no OL) and zero issues. I run a topper full time so I’ll be putting the OL leaf back in soon and anticipate no issues even with the slight increase in lift I’ll gain.

Again the rear shocks on this kit are TRD branded 5160s.

Glad to hear they are holding up. Looks like the 5160 can support a 1.5" lift. What has made you decide to put the ol leaf back in?

The constant weight of the topper has dropped the rear more than I’d like.

Anybody here can give more info between 3 leaf pack or single add-a-leaf? I have 1.5" rear block right now.

I've been searching YouTube couldn't find anything describing the difference of the two...

Which is better for me to use?
3 leaf pack or single aal?
I have 2017 4x4 taco dcsb with c4 rock slider, trifold bed cover, bed extender, tow hitch step and oem bed mat = to almost 300lbs...

@valdomero Don’t have experience with the single AAL, I do have the HS 3 leaf AAL with OL, it works great and maintains the factory rake, it can handle a bit more weight in the rear before you can see it start sagging. Works good for moderate towing. It is a bit harsher in the rear but I can live with it. Some do say they start to sag in the long term, mine are still holding up.

@valdomero yes it gave me 2” of lift, I keep 150-200lbs worth of tools in the bed and than softens the back a little, is not as jumpy.

I installed the SSO slimline hybrid bumper with a Smittybilt X20 12k synthetic line winch. It dropped the front down quite a bit and the suspension felt pretty soft. I upgraded the springs to Eibach 650lb and I got the lift and ride quality back!

Just to add some more results to this thread, I installed mine this weekend, picked up just the fronts from a member here locally. They leveled the front about 1.5”. Sitting about 36.5” ground to fender on all 4 corners. I imagine they will settle a little. Looking at ordering some 5160s for the rear.

I couldn’t find red ones. I went with the black ones from Wheeler. They complement my red JBA UCA’s pretty well.
