I have a 2011 taco dbl cab sport. I have the factory radio that i do not want to change but i would like to add bluetooth while still keeping my steering wheel controls. Im not sure if the radio is even capable of the addition. I used to work on car electronics so i dont have an issue installing it. Has anyone done this before and do you know of any good bluetooth units that can be added to this truck.
This is the only one i could fine but when you google the part number it comes up for a carolla. Not sure if its good for most toyotas or what.

    http://www.trdsparks.com/install/00016-00401inst-11-taco.pdf

Any help would be appreciated thanks

same year truck with stock radio. for $50, this works fine for me. plays thru it's own speaker or thru your radio (it's an FM transmitter). about the size of a pack of cigaretts. clips on your visor like a garage door opener. plays anything that comes out of your phone speaker. Like phone calls or streaming pandora.

There are two Toyota OEM solutions created by Blu Logic, both function the same way the only difference is the button size included. This plugs into a port in the back of the stock non-jbl radio. When a call comes in it will interrupt the radio. Caller's voice is played thru the speakers. Easy plug-n-play solution, I've been using Blu Logic now for 2.5 years with a few android phones/tablets and it's always worked flawlessly for calls and streaming media.

PT923-00112 : This is the small button kit. If you had a TRD Offroad this would be the kit you'd wanna buy as the button is sized to fit under the radio, next to the cigarette lighter.

PT923-00098 : This is the big button kit that replaces one of the blanks on the dash, left of the steering wheel (where the RSCA, Fog Lights, 400W Inverter, VSC, etc).

If you can't find install instructions, let me know and I'll attach the pdf for ya. If you happen to want the small button but only come across the big button kits, shoot me a pm cause I'd be happy to trade my small button for a big button. The buttons are interchangeable.

I have the BT-35 TOY in my 2008 and it works fairly well. The sound quality isn't quite as good as a cd, but the steering wheel controls and mic work well. Simple plug n play installation. I'm not sure if it's what you're looking for, but it might be worth a look. I believe it cost somewhere around $120.

I may be reviving the dead, but has anyone installed this Bluetooth phone interface lately?
    upload_2017-4-29_19-18-54.jpg\
Will it work with an iPhone6?

I do not want to change the head unit and don't want something clipped to my sun visor.

    Thanks, Rick.

    Hi,

I just kinda dealt with mine last week. I got mine installed when I bought the truck, but I'm not entirely sure it's the Blu Logic one and it was dealer / contractor installed. The parts counter at Toyota dealership should have these in the system.

There is a standalone unit that will fit behind the radio, with an adapter cable so you're not cutting. From there there is a plug for the mic and a plug for the phone switch (in your picture).

As far as Bluetooth and your iPhone, it's a simple hookup, and as long as your iPhone is backwards compatible with Bluetooth 2.x I think you should be fine. It works with my Android Galaxy S7 (but currently my mic cord seems to be crimped and needs replacement). The full JBL with bluetooth OEM works on my dad's 2011 just fine as well and an iPhone 6s.

    Hope that helps.

    Thanks J.R.

My daughter's iPhone 6 work with my wife's old 2011 Prius she is driving now - I would guess electronically it is the same system.

Need to call Monday before I order to make sure these are still available.

Just because they are on the dealer's parts website does not mean they are on their shelf or in the warehouse.

If I wasn't so anal about keeping the truck look "factory" and tidy, I'd get a visor clip device, but that just attracts attention.

I'd hat to be broken into to look for the phone that isn't there.

Here are some images from my install (for reference) of what it all looks like. The mic is the only thing that sticks out on the pillar and there is plenty of cable to mount it some place else (like near the mirror if you want).

    Thanks for the pics.

I downloaded the pdf of the instructions and it seems pretty straight forward and a lot less fiddly that the cruise install.

Just purchased this exact unit off Amazon for $64, did a promo to sign up for a Amazon CC and got a $40 gift card. $24 later and it will be here Thursday! When I purchased it it was the only one in stock, it now shows out of stock but there were other vendors that had them in stock. Get on Amazon and type in the part number! I also need the install instructions if anyone has the PDF handy! Thanks!

Hey @sjwhitaker, can you take a photo of the mic connector wire plug ? I'm looking for a replacement and wondering if the Blu Logic and the Rostra I have are compatible.

The blu logic has a 2 wire mic jack. The rostra needs a 4 wire jack for some reason. Went through this myself. I found a 4 wire mic on Amazon for 24$ last month

I know its been about a month and no one has responded but I also had the same question.

Anyway I looked around a little bit more and I found this version at Crutchfield not sure how well it works but it seems like no one in the reviews has mentioned anything negative.
