I was actually thinking about that on my way home. I’ve been wheeling 2wd and not giving a fuck for 4 years and have never actually used 4wd in my life except for one mud hole in my old f150. Taking this thing off-road is going to be a whole different experience.

You won’t likely need Atrac unless you’re driving less than 5mph anyway. I never use Atrac.

Yea, I more just want the locker in 4hi. Atrac cuts off over 4mph I think.

The anytime locker mod is worth doing if you can figure it out without butchering your wiring harness!

My understanding is that you just have to splice into the 4lo ground wire where the ecu grounds when you put it in 4lo (to allow ATRAC and the locker to be turned on) and put a switch in it that, when switched on, allows you to auto ground that wire and the ecu thinks you’re in 4lo and allows the use of ATRAC and the locker.

Apparently turning this switch on in 2hi or 4hi will turn off all traction control and light up the 4lo light on your dash too. Sounds kinda like a burnout button to me.

ATRAC on 4R works really well when you have a tire up in the air and remember to actually turn on atrac.
    :anonymous:

And as Dave taught me at aop, use sport shift while in 4lo is better that just staying in drive.

It's my favorite Mod above any other mod I've done! Takes about 30min with minimal butchery to the wiring harness to do on the Taco.
