I looked at several vendors and went with the Challenger CL4P7. Found a local, certified company that came out and installed it. Included was a checkup at the 12 month mark to make sure everything is still working perfectly. They’ll do annual maintenance after that for a fee, and frankly with something like this it’s worth the cost to make sure it’s safe. Total cost was $3,999 installed. There is actually a national association the gives accreditation to lift installers who comply with certain safety standards. PM me if you have more questions.

 

That's not bad, just need to check for height clearance and make sure the garage door doesn't hit the car above.

Decided to post since others might be interested. I had to convert the third bay door into a high lift system. Notice the difference in the track heights as it raises up against the ceiling. Instead of the typical opener it runs off of a side crank liftmaster unit that is mounted at the top corner of the door.

 

You sir are a genius, exactly what I'm looking for.
Are those ready to buy and install or was that custom work?

I had a local company do it. If you’re handy you could probably do it yourself. They custom fashioned strips of track for the door to run on. The biggest issue was having to install a new electrical outlet on the outside wall of the garage next to where the new opener is mounted. I love working on my cars and house but when it comes to electrical work, I’m happy to hire a professional. I don’t want to turn myself into a burnt chicken nugget, nor do I want to torch my house. Call around and get quotes. When you get a quote, forward it to the other bidding companies to see who can beat it. I’ve gotten a LOT of work done for less than half the cost of what initial bids were.

 

i'm Baaaaaaaaaack now that I spent the 4 weeks away from work that they made me do after shoulder surgery I'm back to sitting on the forums because I'm stuck in front of a computer for another 5-8 months rehabbing!

How's it going as far as the recovery goes?

 

slow but ok.... haven't been taking pain med since about week two.... finally sleeping in a bed instead of a recliner... played WAAAAAAAAAAY to many video games while I was stuck at home. The pain is different daily.. some are good some are shitty. physical therapy is 2x a week now.... Honestly the worst part is being tied up in this sling for 23 hours a day.

No kids here. My wife and I are broken in that regard unfortunately, so we decided to escape the holiday and jetsetted to Hawaii.

 

Mine is WC also got hurt june 16th didnt have surgery till oct 26th

 

If you ever want to get a little comparison if you are where you should be around the age of early 30's in life, just go to a Walmart Black Friday in your hometown while you're in for Thanksgiving.

Last few days in this group, then I move on up to the 40 somethings.

Started my thirties single and alone, ending them married with 3 kids. I would say they were good to me.
