Slimline is my thought too, I put a tank in just for alittle reserve. It’s only a 1 gallon and gives you a small amount of extra Incase of a impact. Goes quick though, but 1 gallon was the only size I could fit without having to remove the spare. Seems like most guys who put a 2.5 put it where the spare was.

A few more photos just because. I’m really liking these tires on the truck. Shopping for lifts now, the 1” taller tires really give it a great look. Have to figure out how far my speedo is off. Doubt it’s much.

So, some FYI knowledge I just learned today. The ARB twin shuts off at 150psi not 100. Seems like the guy at 4wheelparts should learn that, or maybe I should research more. Shouldn’t be an issue with a blowoff valve. In talks with genesis to see if their g-screen with air psi digital guauge can work without a dual battery. Waiting to hear back from them, good idea for a small digital pressure gauge for my system. The 265/75-16 tires also seem to not have an effect on my speedo, unless my speedo was off from the start. Used a gps and a iPhone app both showed my speed the same as my trucks and I went up to 80mph, so that’s a plus. Also found out that a 265/75-16 will fit in the spare spot, so that’s gonna be happening when I get home next time.

So, it’s been a little while since my last post. With the holidays and work, haven’t had much time for mods. I’m home now and modding away, got some time the past few days. Was able to get the Pop & Lock tailgate lock installed. Love it, makes it that much more easy to unlock. I picked up a Ram mount rail from Expendition Essentials, no photo, but I didn’t get a dang phone mount. So I got it installed just to look at for now lol. They have a guy on the forums OG FAVRICATIONS makes some molle panels for the doors and center console. Well I got the door panels and love them, make for hold all the junk that was in my door a bit more manageable. Knocked out the interior LED lights as well, got the kit off Amazon quality is ok, but for 20 you can’t go wrong. Finally, was able to de-chrome the rear bumper with Ecoologicals rear bumper caps. Got to say it looks sweet. Still just waiting it out for the lift, but trying to get the last bit of things ready. We are planning a summer 2 week road trip so trying to plan that out and make sure we have what we think we need and then some.

Ahh, after three Toyota dealerships and the parts “experts” telling me this part doesn’t exist. Well I brought them a part number to one and was like order this. Haha, geez I ended up putting on the factory roof rack. I know I know, it’s no prinsu. But for my needs it fits the bill very good. Was super easy to install, and boo. Kayaks are ready to transport.

Time for my off weeks from the boat, so nice to get home. So June 6 we are leaving for a 2 week road trip up to Arkansas, Missouri, and Tennessee. Then back down the Mississippi River road stopping along the way. So had a few more mods to knock out to get ready for that. Started with the rotopax mount, it’s the one for the bed rails. I picked up 2 tanks for dirt cheap so they will come in handy just Incase. Installed the ditch brackets and rigid industries led lights. To top it off I decided that I was gonna move my rear OBA location to something not under the truck. This spot proved to be a pain in my ass, I drilled some pilot holes for the self taping screws that kept breaking. Ended up drilling out bigger holes and just used some nuts and bolts. Just got to get some material to finish the plumbing, running out of daylight today.

So, haven’t done much post this off weeks. Was able to knock out a few mods before ToyotaJamboree2019. My faux pro headlight came in a was able to get them in, few issues with wires and blowing fuses but got it fixed and couldn’t be happier. For more than 1500 less than pro headlights I don’t think anyone can argue. Seat covers also came in, these are coverkings ballistic. Second set from this company and again super excited and pleased with their quality. I can’t tell people enough about this brand and the custom covers. Took about 4 week from order to received but worth it. So as I mentioned I left out and made the 6 hour trip to Gilmer Tx fro Toyota Jamboree 2019. For a stock truck with some better tires this truck performed great. I stuck with the level 2 trails but with the constant rain and slickness of everything it made it a bit more technical. From coming from jeeps to this truck, I am fully impressed. Finally got to use my locker though. The factory skids held decent, they are bashed now, and few scraps on the rear bumper. I’d say it was a succeessful first trip with the truck.

Looks good! I'm curious how/where you mounted your air tank, did you have to make your own bracket? Do you possibly have anymore pictures? Thanks.

I don’t have photos at this time. I mounted it on the driver sides cubby underside. It’s a thick plastic and easy enough to hold that tank since it’s so light. Which would cause a issue for high clearance bumpers. But since I don’t plan on that it works. Now when I do relocate my tire to the rear bumper one day I’ll make a bracket to fit where the spare was under the truck. My thought are to find someone to weld me a tank for water, and mount the tank for air. But that’s just hopes and dreams.

So haven’t got around to many mods, except for the cbi rear bumper. But was able to get up to the ozark mountains for some good trail riding. With the new bumper still got to mount my rear air quick connect but worth it, unfortunately I didn’t have it mounted for the trail rides.

I have not been doing my job and keeping up with my build. Sorry, a lot of things been going on. Well let’s catch you guys up. Since my last post I have removed the rear cbi bumper, nothing wrong just didn’t really find the tire carrier combo useful for my lifestyle. So I sold it locally, and ordered a basic rear cbi bumper, that way I have some protection and no more plastic bumper. I finally got around to do a lift kit, I’d say it’s 2” it’s a bilstein 6112/5160 with the icon add a leaf, and ome carrier drop. I set the fronts to 6/5 so it really is a decent ride, but nothing to crazy. With meso finally getting almost everything de chromed on the inside I picked up all the pieces for that, of course I got the red push button start that adds 50hp just like that. Well, my cbi front covert bumper/winch/light bar/battery is all in. So when I get home In 2 weeks I’m gonna have a busy weekend knocking all this stuff out. I’ll post pics and try to keep more active.

Front bumper is on, went with CBI agin. Can’t go wrong with them, their products are always top notch. Put a smittybilt winch with a factor 55 flatlink. Went and used Cali raised 32” led bar, have hear a lot of good things about them and it didn’t break the bank. Actually quite please with it’s output for some night rides. Still waiting on my kill switch before if I post the finished product of my new battery and making sure it’s clean.

Nothing like a build thread that doesn’t get a lot of love or action. Sorry, work is busy and life is moving. Unfortunately once you reach a certain point it’s hard to think of what else you truly need without going over the top. Well, my truck I near there. Finally got around to doing a CMC thanks to southern style offroad, I now have a set of 285/75-16 and soon very soon I’ll make the trip to North Carolina for a regear. Just haven’t decided on 4.88 or 5.29 keep hearing 5.29 is the way to go for towing and those tires. But we did find time for some camping, did a nice week long trip up to land between the lakes for the first time. Really was nice, next time we are spot jumping from site to site for camping instead of renting a cabin. Which was nice, ac but just sucked having to always travel back to one spot. But on the way home, FB marketplace delivered the best thing yet. A custom teardrop trailer a guy in New Orleans built to travel. Couldn’t pass that up considering the price was almost 3 times less that what most manufacturers charge for the same thing. Besides the quality this guy did and love he put into it, well we are gonna give it a nice life. We have already did 2 small trips to grand isle in it, and a trip coming soon. Right now it still needs some finishing touches for barriers to help it power the dometic fridge longer without a constant solar charge. Incase of cloudy weather. But overall very happy, need to get some updated photos of it with the matching rims I picked up. But this one will do for now. So with my dirt bike in my bed, and the trailer on I’m sagging a bit, still reading on helper bags and the day star cradles. So maybe that might come up in the future.
