Muffler for a deeper sound?

I’m looking for a lower more ballsy sound from my Tacoma. Do I need a whole new exhaust or will a muffler do the trick? Thanks for your help.

 

I got a MagnaFlow muffler only and it’s perfect, IMO. Not too loud yet louder than stock.

I went through a bit of an ordeal. The muffler shop recommended the Flowmaster so I went with that.
After a couple days my kids complained it was too loud.
I went back and paid the difference for the MF and now I’m very happy with it.

 

Which part number?

 

Would you happen to have a video? Mostly everything on YouTube is the kits or heavily modded. I’ve been wanting to hear just a muffler upgrade

I did the magnaflow swap and replaced it back to factory within a day. So much drone, no idea how the cat backs sound good on these trucks. I'm thinking they only do in videos. All the exhaust noise is directed right into the cab. The trucks cruising rpm is the drone zone.

+1 for Magnaflow. I have it and love the sound. Everyone that hears it loves it too, they can hear me driving up

Love my MF. Get through the break-in period and the drone mellows out. First five days is nuts, though.

 

I installed a flowmaster 50 series Delta stainless muffler on mine.

I settled on this after hearing my brother's 40 on his Tacoma and it sounded a little raspy and I didn't care much for the in cabin sound. Here's a chart that helped me decide:

Startup and revs from 2k to 4500-5k iirc.
