I can spend 1000.00 or so on the lift, as long as it doesn't void the warranty. But then new tires are 1000.00 should i replace the rims too and what setback? a lot to think about

I just put a lift on mine about a month ago. Ran me about $700-$750 for parts and installed it myself so saved on labor. Price of a lift just depends on what you want and what you can do yourself or have to pay a shop to do. Contact one of the vendors on here like wheelers or headstrong and let them know what you are wanting out of a lift. I messaged wheelers back and forth with questions I had and what I was looking for in a lift and they set me right up. I went with a mild 2 inch lift so am still running factory size tires and they look fine. I plan to upgrade tires one size when I get rims back from powder coating.

And follow this advice. I waited a year and a half to lift my truck. Read a ton of stuff on this forum and talked to a few people. Wanted to get the lift that was right for me. Everybody is different.

Great advice I'm thinking of running 31inch tires so three inch lift would do it I think?

You can run 31s with no lift. Certain 33s (255 85 16 ) you can fit with no lift. Not sure on 17s

3” can get more costly, UCA’s,vibrations, driveline angles. 2”= less problems,=less money. 2” on a Tacoma looks nice, very driveable as a daily driver. Talk to Marie @HeadStrong Off-Road ,good pricing, great knowledge.

I have to lift a little just because i want the look so maybe 2 inch lift, but I have other mods before the lift goes in will 33s be to much strain to the truck.

You are gonna take a little hit in performance. I just put 265/70/17 AT tires on my truck. Not quite as peppy, about a -1.5 mpg loss. All on stock suspension, with no rub.

3rd gens Sports and Off Roads are the same height stock. Different shocks , 17” Sport wheels, 16” Off Road wheels. My truck is a 2018 Sport, with manual transmission. It may sit a tad higher than an automatic, manual is a lighter transmission.
