Thanks for the order sir, just checked it out.
I think U402 stage 1 would be zero to 1/4" lift reusing stock, I'd honestly rather see you switch to 3.6" or even stay with stock shackles.

Do you think we can make the change for the 3.6 shackle or is it to late?

So a longer shackle (vs stock) gives more lift/articulation?

    Or am I backwards?

That's backwards, shorter is slightly more lift
    (Half the length difference)

Y’all weren’t kidding about these rivets being a bitch and a half. Got a little crafty for one of them and it worked, which is sweet.

Going to chip away at these things after work each day this week. I want them on before Saturday to go wheeling with them.

I was thinking of getting one of these https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074TJ2HW...olid=2SVWJ80HYDGJD&psc=0&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it when I do mine. I know the price is a bit high for a 1 time use, but I figure "if it decreases the anxiety level during install, and I can sell for only a small loss afterwards, it will probably be worth every penny".

That’s pretty cool. For the bottom two rivets you could also use a floor jack and some stacked wood as a sorta upside down drill press.

I just don’t think (at least on my truck) there’s enough room for that contraption.

A mag drill would be money for these, but they’re damn expensive.

Some have had success in grinding heads off and using a ball joint press to push them out.
Something that supports back side of frame is key

I regret not waiting to just use mobtown’s shop. I’m an impatient child who wants them in by Saturday so I’m paying for that decision right now haha

How far of a drive is it from 95 to their new shop tho? That right there is enough anxiety to keep you in your own garage.

Maybe mine will end up there. I still need to creep the new bumper they made for third gens.

They’re 1.5 hours from me but I wouldn’t hesitate to do the work there. It’d be easy to torch or air hammer out what’s left of the rivets. Meanwhile I have to manually punch them out or drill them. May rent a press kit later to try and press them out.

A ball joint press kit and a short grade 8 bolt made quick work of the bottom two rivets after grinding the heads off.

It also worked on the side two but it was a bit more of a pain getting everything in place with only two hands. Would definitely recommend if you don’t have an air chisel or torch or something.

Translation: I'll drop my truck off with you at Mobtown in the future and return with goodies from Dogfish Head and Jewish bakeries in Dewey.

    No pics? ;)

I did it in the dark with a headlamp so no good pics. This is all I’ve got.

Did you grind the heads off and punch them out? I know a couple ppl that have done it that way. Seemed pretty easy and straight forward. Drilling them seems like a nightmare.

This, I haven't done the hammer hangers but I've done the bump stop pad that's riveted on. A really coarse grinding wheel on a angle grinder to grind the rivet heads flush, then pb blaster, torching with mapp gas, sturdy punch and a heavy engineers hammer with some curse words did the trick. If they don't want to be dissuaded then pry the mounts off the rivets you grinded, grind another 1/4" of rivet so it's flush with the frame surfaces then lube, gas, and beat also works good (being careful obviously). Mines a california truck so your corrosion may vary. Took me all day to do a total of 8 rivets.
