Well I took my Tacoma to Toyota and had it checked out they said that the block was rusted and that’s where the oil was coming from they said that the engine had to be replaced at $6,800 I cant believe it. My truck only has 65,000 miles on it. 2011 tacoma

I don’t know I been looking at remanufactured motors they are about $2,600 with a 3 yr. guareentee. My nepheau is a machanic he would put it in for around $800. I really don’t want to get rid of it

Shop around junkyards with trucks that have rear damage. I’d search for a good used engine, then maybe use engine paint to protect the new engine. Good luck!

    They're scamming you.
I've *never* heard of one of these big thick heavy cast iron blocks rusting through.
Tell them to show you the leak.

If there was a hole in the block you'd be pooring oil out, it would loose all oil pressure and the oil in a minute or less if it was running. What are the symptoms? My truck has dissapearing oil but it's cause it has a ring failure

Sounds like nonsense, I've never heard of such a thing. Get a second and third opinion.

Sounds like pure BS 2 me. If your nepheau is anything like a nephew why would you have him tell you why it's using oil instead of some rip off dealer ?? I'd really like to know.

Can’t imagine that it rusted completely through the block. Puzzles me to think it could even be a possibility on a 2011
