It’s been mounted up there for 6 months (about 15-20 nights camping on multiple trips from Tahoe to Colorado yo Utah) and so far so good. I don’t feel any more tippy with it up there BUT you can feel it and I’m more cautious with it.

One thing i dislike and might be why i sell it is it hangs over the front of the windshield a few inches. Worried the rtt could break / get damaged from wind rushing up the windshield onto the bottom front edge at freeway speed. Definitely feel it when on the freeway with a headwind.

Overall, off-road the setup is awesome. I only worry when I’m traveling fast on the freeway. I love having the softtopper to keep stuff relatively dry and less dusty

How were the temps? Wanting to plan a trip out there but I haven't camped below freezing before.

I felt much more tippy after taking off my sway bar than I did adding an RTT on a rack. Just sayin'

I didn't have a thermometer but based on the myradar app and the forecast in the areas we were at, it was in the low 30s at night. Have proper layers and a good sleeping bag and you'd be fine. Though having a heater and a propane camp fire made it easier to hang out outside at night. It was raining and snowing on our way in last Thursday.

I've had my sway bar remove since I have the truck lifted ~50k+ miles ago but i would agree. I'm used to the body roll since removing the sway bar and adding the rtt over the cab didn't really make it feel any worse. Honestly I didn't notice that much of a difference.

Little better than your last camp temps. I could deal with 30s again.

yeah, i definitely wasn't prepared for 24 degrees overnight last time. 30s didn't feel bad at all.

How well does it breathe? Does condensation build up much with a heater inside there?
Was thinking of getting this for mine as well

Sometimes we just get lucky - and this morning was apparently one of those times for me. I mean sure, I situated my truck for success the night before, and I'd brought the camera into the tent thinking there might be an opportunity to capture a bit of early orange hue, but I never thought I'd get the display that I did, while still warm under my comforter.

It started as it so often does - just a hint of brightness along the horizon and deep purple highlights on the clouds in the sky. This is the moment, I thought to myself...

It really was the start of an amazing day.

I have the CVT version and mine had a decent amount of condensation in the morning when we woke up. Had a heated blanket (camped w/ the gf) but it kept the heat in. It rained in the middle of the night so the humidity may have gone up a little bit and caused condensation. A little shake quick wipe down and it was dry.

I've always thought about buying that weathershield, but I've slept in some cold frickin weather sans cover and was fine.

So far so good. Certainly locks the heat in. We could see a few hours of freezing rain as the temp drops this weekend . The weather is sporadic up there, which means it could go from freezing rain to -2 if it decided, and I figured I'd use as much insurance with the tent as reasonably possible.

Breathability isn't bad. I lifted the flap at middle edges to let some air circulate and that seemed to help just fine. There is also a velcro square by the hole that can be lifted for extra air if needed.

Condensation has been no worse than the tent during a rain storm.

The cover reminds me of my fiance's hair cap for the shower with the draw cord. Hahaha. It has loops around the edge that I'll take some Paracord and make sliding leashes to connect to the rack to assist the cord. The cord alone seems plenty strong, just for long term wear and tear I might try to take some of the stress off the corners poking through .

So far it's working as expected. Was shorts and long sleeves warm at 14* this morning. I'll find out this weekend in North Woods Maine how it holds up

...The truth was, this was a day we'd all been looking forward to - but perhaps no one more than me. This was the day that we'd return to what was the trail that pushed me the hardest the year before; the trail on which, I confided to Mike - "This is right on the edge for me." It was also the trail where Frank had called it quits - nearly twice - and where we'd banded together to get out in one piece. It was Boulder Basin.

Read and see what happened this year: The Re-Tour Day 8: Boulder Basin, My Favorite Trail
