Have been watching this thread for a couple years now. Cant believe its still an issue?
    Bought a new 85 SR5 4X4 in 85. And a new 95 T100 xtra cab that I can't kill.
Would like to buy a new truck. But am waiting for the bugs to get worked out.
Am really ready for a new truck after 24 years............. Just can't seem to pull the trigger
as I keep hearing about unresolved issues with the new ones......

Yeah it sucks... My wife convinced me to sell my 2001 TRD and buy the 2017 SR5. Huge mistake! Hopefully the shiftsense pro V2 make the truck drive better? Keeping my fingers crossed. I'll post after I install and test drive.

I'm new to the Tacoma (just picked up a used 2016 SR5 2-weeks back). I was having some odd vibration issues at lower speeds and mostly notice it during deceleration. Coming here I found this TSB and I think it's in line with my issue. Before I go to the dealer I want to understand if my VIN is in fact within the range but I'm not comprehending who the be sure. The TSB states:
Reference the table below for 2016 model year Tacoma vehicles produced BEFORE the Production Change Effective VINs.
CAB TYPE PRODUCTION CHANGE EFFECTIVE VIN Double
    5TFGZ5AN#GX040536
    3TMGZ5AN#GM039554
    5TFCZ5AN#GX040121
    3TMCZ5AN#GM039538

    My VIN is:
    5TFDZ5BN5GX003***

Does that mean my model is SOL?

No clue, wish I could help... the vibration won't be 100% gone even after the TSB. The 3rd gen Taco's are really bad, it just plain sucks!

Well it happened.. I’ve been reading these vibe issue threads for years, thinking it couldn’t be that bad, then 2 weeks ago there it was I’d hit 25mph and it would stumble, very noticeable, It was like finding out my truck had herpes. Devastating. I wrote down all the info on the TSBs, made my appointment and was fully expecting the frustrations ahead with getting the dealer to fix it. Here’s the twist that I haven’t heard anyone mention. He said it needs a new transmission, they think the #4 clutch pack is bad? so they’re filing a claim with Toyota and going to replace it under warranty, could be a week could take 3 months but I got a loaner 2017 Tacoma Sport (no vibe issues on loaner btw) until it’s done. I just wanted to thank everyone for saying this was an issue. I’ll give an update when I get it back

My dealership and Toyota continue to tell me the truck is working as it's supposed to. I'm taking them to state run consumer protection arbitration.

    Stock for now
    I recently bought a 2018 TRD Pro,
Had this vibration since day 1 of owning the truck ... brought it in to the dealer, they told me the rear drums were out of round and they replaced the front brakes as well.
So far it seems like the vibration went away. Only time will tell.

Took my truck in for the 5k, told them about vibration I am getting only when slowing down 25 to 20 mph, tech drove truck and felt vibration, suggested that he turn rear drums as a starting point that vibrations can be hard to pin point. Told them to proceed but I didn't think that was the problem, truck still having same issue, so taking back 1/7 to have them try again.... getting vib even coasting with no brake applied, on take off no vib at same speed...truck is stock no leveling kit etc

Anyone know if this TSB will be applicable to the 2018 MY soon (in Canada?)?

Exact issue happening with mine. Been at the dealer since Dec 27th.

They have a front Diff ordered now but I'm doubtful that is the problem.

So let me get this right, they are mostly saying it's the transmission and NOT the drive line now? And only in automatic transmissions?

I guess I'm just having a hard time wrapping my brain around how it could be the transmission. Most of the descriptions on here make me think it points to the drive shaft, specifically that middle joint that should be a CV joint instead of a single U joint.

I agree, when I lifted my truck it went away. That came from a rep from toyota and the service manager.

Interestingly when I lifted the truck these vibrations started. Only 25-20 on decelerations and slightly on acceleration. Doesn't bother me enough to do anything about it, pretty minor. Feels quite clearly to be coming from the rear of the truck.

FWIW as a drummer / engineer it feels like a resonance frequency problem... I highly doubt it's any particular component. More the 'system' of the truck (chassis, bodywork etc) naturally resonating at a certain frequency that is amplified by something.
