Hey all, so bought my first Taco and loving it. It's a 2018 TRD sport and of course I'm looking to get rid of the stock little tires and considering a leveking kit, I'd like to avoid cutting anything as I am leasing it. From what I've been reading on here it looks like I can fit a 265 70 r17 with stock rims and suspension. If I decide to add a leveling kit in future would this size be OK or be small? What else other than leveling kit would I need? I've read about having to get shocks and possibly angling the diff and drop sway bars? Seems like there's no definitive answers out there which is mind boggling to me. Thanks

Welcome to TW! Why would spend money on mods for a vehicle that you don’t own? That’s mind boggling...anyway the tires will fit without a leveling kit.

Not sure how to reply to a specific reply but to the question on why would I spend money on vehicle I don't own? Good question. 1. It's something I can easily remove and transfer to the next taco I lease (if I don't buy this one outright) and 2. I want it to have a bit more of an aggressive look.

So I answered you below, would that still be a good tire size of I put the leveling kit on or would that be to small? And about the lift, any other mods needed to be done for the sway bar links, rear diff angle etc?

If you're just doing a leveling kit, that is all you'll need to do.. it will work with OEM shocks. IF you're wanting to do shocks and such then ignore the leveling kit and buy new springs and shocks. My leveling kit came with a differential drop spacer. I did the readylift it ran good.

I am leasing for now but will either buy it at the end of lease, sell it private party or trade it in. People seem to think everyone just turns the truck in at the end of leases which is the worst possible thing you can do at the end of a lease. That being said, I bought new wheels and tires for $1200, sold oem set for $950 so I spent $250 to have a way more enjoyable truck for at least 36 months. I also added bilstein 5100s and ome 884 coils to lift the front a little. $340 out the door doing install myself and getting alignment. Also tinted the front windows for $60 and will be adding a pro grill ($72).
Point is, just because you’re leasing a vehicle doesn’t make it so you can’t mod a vehicle.
I’m $700 in to mods and will make the truck more enjoyable to me, which is the reason most mod anyways.
Even if you own the vehicle it’s hard to get even half (probably less) out of mods if/when you sell anyways, so regardless, doing any mods is a bad “investment.”

So what tires did you go with? And I'm glad to hear you say that about the leasing thing. That's way I'm looking at it, it's going to make it more enjoyable. I think it's a good looking truck as is but can Def use a little help. Tires, level and I think I'd be good there.
