to be fair there are 4 lights on the 70, so the last light indicating 100% is actually indicating 76-100%.

Yeah, I guess I should read over the manual again. The GB40 has 4 lights as well, marked 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100%. I would think each light would only light up once it reached that charge, but perhaps you're right.

As a followup, you were right. I just got my wife's GB40, and the manual says "all four charge LEDs will be illuminated when the internal battery is between 75%-100% and the unit is powered ON."

I have had to use mine on my 1st gen tundra numerous times (electrical gremlins always draining the battery). would not leave home without it.

    I have a GB40 and I'm 1-2 with it.

#1 - a neighbor's old ford van was dead, I tried to jump it, the starter would only click, would not turn over. We tried a couple times with no luck. He was in a hurry so we used jumper cables to another vehicle. In hindsight, I should have left the jump box connected to charge the battery a bit before trying again.

#2 - Tried to jump a boat. Hooked it up and couldn't get the thing to recognize the battery. I now realize there is a manual "override" button that must be used if the battery voltage is too low to be detected.

#3 - Starting to wonder if I got a dud, I pulled my car (not taco) battery and connected this straight to the terminals. Fired right up.

    RTFM
