    Funny haven’t talked to him in a month or more. But you should know that since clearly your nose is up mine.

    Grown men acting like children. Was trying to offer an idea to chux and not one person got it even though it was a simple concept.

    Real talk, it’s the same issue. You require moving the truck in order to get best possible light vs just moving the solar blanket and keeping your tent, kitchen and entire setup stationary. It’s easier to move a tiny solar setup than needing to move the truck.

    True. And I know Jay camps in remote locations in the woods. For most of us out here on the east coast its very impractical. But west of here campsites are “usually” maintained and trimmed. EspeciallyRV sites. I was looking into wiring all the accessories also into some sort of RV plug to be able to just plug up to an RV hook up at some parks. But thats a long ways down the road and I out very little time in.

    It was just a suggestion obviously. Maybe by the time I do solar Ill have a different concept or the mats will be cheaper

    This is exactly my point. The sun is forever moving and parking does not always have options to be in the sun... so I want to be able to move or put the solar panel anywhere needed around the truck.

    @The Hunter
    Having it concealed under the cargo box on a slide still only give me one option of location.. and if it slides out into a shaded spot, their really is no point in having it setup like that.

    oh everyone got the idea, just no one likes the idea. if you decide thats the route you want for your rig, awesome. but jay stated that he doesn't want a panel that requires repositioning the truck to be able to use it. I agree. I'd way rather have a portable solar system than a hard mounted one. I am partial to the goal zero yeti power packs and solar panels. then I'd have a 2nd battery that is completely separate from the truck. can still jump start the truck with it, or power anything around camp.

    not sure i'll ever justify buying one though unless its for an off grid cabin.

    What’s an RV park..? Is that those little home communities with lots of old people and a swimming pool. I like to camp. In the woods. Hopefully not seeing anyone.

    Most camping around here is in an rv park... im not really sure of any place in NJ you can legally camp that isn’t at some sort of park and requires a designated location.

    This is why I don’t camp in NJ.
    I don’t even know why I even come back to Jersey after camping..

    ^ This is why I will never move back east voluntarily. Once you get used to BLM land rules, you can't ever go back!

    Driving through desert: Hey, this spot looks flat. OK. Plop.

    I know it's an illusion, but the stake looks like its next to the fire! :bananadead:

    Also, bopping about state to state sounds amazing. In my little bit of research it's a bit harder on this coast haha
