Got corrosion free rustproofing applied about a month ago. It has stopped dripping and has hardened up a little bit. The corrosion free people say that they recommend washing the car off periodically during winter to get off any road salts.

I have a good amount of sand/mud/dirt on the frame from my offroading. The rustproofing has attracted all the grime to the frame and it is covered.

I am assuming I should be washing this sand/dirt off, because it will attract road salts and lead to rust?

Are the typical undercarriage washes at the car wash safe for the tacoma, or do they generally use harmful chemicals, in which case I should just get under with a hose and spray it off myself?

I stay out of car washes because they use recycled water. I go all winter dirty and first 45-50 deg day wash in my driveway. Trust me.

The wash facility should be fine chemically speaking.....

But ask the vendor that did your application if hand or automatic is the preferred rinse method.

Should I wash all the sand/mud off that has stuck to my rustproofing product before the first road salts hit the ground?

I have done a lot of searches on this forum and have found conflicting views:

    1) Leave all that sand/mud on the frame, because it acts as an extra barrier to the salts.

    2) Wash all that shit off, because it attracts road salts and worsen rusting.

I would hope that the rustproofing (done a month ago) is all I need, but this being my first ever vehicle (I am almost 50), and I want it to outlast me, I don't want to mess anything up.

Thanks to all for the feedback.
