My dad is a cnc machinist in CT, not much left up there. He's down to like 3.5 days a week and even then he's stretching it out.
But definitely knows more calculations and equations then anyone I've met.

They do that here too before the state will allow you to collect your pension. They make you take a retirement class and a financial planning class before you are allowed to throw in the towel...

Anyone here an electronics wizard of some sort? Could use some help with my next project.

Also need recommendations for a local electronics store. I need some resistors, capacitors, prototyping breadboard, digikey, etc.

I’d like to try to build a 20vDC-12vDC converter with battery undervolt protection.

I should be able to use my 20v Dewalt Batteries to power my kayak electric motor and my ARB fridge/freezer.

We sell a 24 to 12 but the draw would kill a rechargeablw battery quickly.

Well, the step down part is crazy simple. Just grab one of these.

As far as undervolt protection, use this:

    Thanks guys.

ARB draws very little because it’s very efficient, highly insulated and usually kept closed during outings. It cycles on/off very rarely.

Trolling motor is tiny and powers a plastic kayak. It will be used for short periods at a time. Usually to hold position, n mild current or wind.

I’ll be using 9AHr 20/60v Dewalt Flexvolt batteries in standard 20v output mode. Just need to step it down to 12 volts.

Thank you Brian! So far I've passed all my practice tests. This morning I only missed 4 questions out of the 35.

I highly recommend the study guide I'm using. I paid about 5 bucks for the digital version on Amazon Kindle. You don't need a Kindle to read it, just the app on your computer, tablet or phone.

    Technician Class 2018-2022 (EasyWayHamBooks Book 6) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B079S3LJ8B/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_OJxeCbFSSKK2E

Skip, @ovrlndkull , that goes for you too Bro. Ditch that other material and check this out instead. The practice tests online I sent the link for are still good though.
