Since I am new to the truck scene, I have been looking for advice all around. No better place to come than tacoma world.

I am looking to put some all terrain tires on.

Any body have any good suggestions on brands (within a reasonable price)

Also I might sound like a complete nube, but what do the numbers (285/75/16) signify? -- like each individual #

also in for a tire to be 33" what do the demensions have to be ?

285 is the width in millimeters
75 is a percentage of the first number that is the sidewall height and the 16 signifies the rim size.
That being said, unless you’re lifting or want to do more mods than a noob should do, maybe stick with 265 75 16.
Falken wildpeaks are reasonable and pretty popolar on this site. Hankook dynopro are reasonable and light as well.
Look up tire size calculators if you want to put sizes in and see what they are in inches. 285/70/17 and 285/75/16 are 32.8 inches tall.

I just put 265/70-16 on my SR5 and I got the Cooper AT3 4S tires. Couldn’t be happier. These things grip the road like claws in wet, dry or snow. Haven’t done any mud or off road but in the rain it felt like it was on rails. Crazy for an AT tire but I think Cooper got it right with their new design. Highly recommend.
