Anyone know a good place to go in NE or NY State to scour for First Gen Double Cab bed caps?

So on the way down to drop the christmas tree off the truck starts going HAM on me. Wobbling everywhere, completely out of nowhere 30 minutes into the trip while it had been just fine. All of a sudden temps spike like crazy and just a general "I'm gonna blow up" feel. Pull over and as I am checking coolant the radiators water broke like it was about to have a fucking baby. Luckily happened about 15 minutes from my brother and he came with his truck and we transferred the tree and I called in the tow truck.

Truck smells like death and hopefully finally died. Having a feeling it was a plug or something stupid and easy to fix.

EDIT: NOT my taco. 2002 Chevy 3500 dually dumper is the culprit.

Half of it isn’t even chevys fault, mice get in it, we crash it into stuff every once and a while and etc... only has 27k miles but it’s not run for half the year and gets run sorta hard when it does. The other half is chevys fault though, this thing has always been a pia even when we bought it 10-12 years ago.

Well after the Toy for Tots run I realized how bad my power steering seemed to be doing. I couldn't even turn my wheel while stopped. So I figured I'd just drain and refill my reservoir. The opening is so small that my pump (just like this one) fits but just barley and ends up getting air locked. So I did what I could and it's making a big improvement but I've been looking for turkey basters and all I could find were full size and they were too big. Anyways I just did a google search and found this and I ran right down and picked one up. Changing the fluid tomorrow

That's odd... I had no issues with mine and I have the same pump. Did all of my truck with that thing - it's paid itself off in full by now haha.

It's too cold out to do it the proper way. So I'm just going to suck it out of my reservoir and refill it. I'll do that 3 or 4 times and I should be pretty good till the spring time

Yeah mine might just have a tiny bigger hose on it. I have to jam it in and it gets air locked when i get about half of it out and then most of it drains back into the reservoir as I'm trying to remove the hose

I use these. I always have plenty if anyone needs a few. It takes a while but the little tip gets to every crack of dirt. Worked great when i "drained " and swapped my power steering fluid and some brake fluid situations.

Is that all it takes to change the p/s fluid ?
I have to look at my wife’s Escape as she says her steering sucks lately.
It’s gonna be like 15 out later when I go to look at it hopefully no leaks and she just need fluid. Fun

I found a 1st edition copy of the book The Mating Season by PG Wodehouse last week in excellent condition.
Not sure what it is worth. I don’t think much

No the correct way is to drain near the rack and refill. Then with the engine running and turning the wheel all the way left to right drain at the return point of the reservoir never letting the reservoir running empty until you see new fluid coming out. Easiest to do with 2 people

They way I'm gonna do mine is the half ass way until the spring

Sorry I never got back to you. I agree, I will never get rid of my ground tent setup, it’s really nice to have and I’m sure plenty of trips are better suited for ground tents but the draw of an RTT is real. If I’m heading up your way in the near future I’ll try to swing by and check out the tent. I’m thinking maybe spring with a little better weather haha

I went all the time in N.C. There was a place 5 minutes or less from my house that had 3 doctors. You never needed an appointment and you never waited more than 10 minutes when showing up randomly. Also open from 7:30am-7pm. It was HEAVEN. I would go at least once a month, $30, in and out.

Now two places I called aren't taking new patients. The one I have been going to is good, but only works 3 days a week and from like 10-12 and 3-6, and also is a few towns away from me. So I've been a few times, and went a couple of weeks ago, but the hours they are open are such crap it's almost impossible to get in. Maybe they are open today I will have to check and stop by. This place also is closer to $50 a visit, which isn't as fun as $30.

Ever tried a massage therapist? Last year I had a nasty crash on my dirt bike, over the handle bars and kissed the ground pretty well. I hurt my back so bad I could barely breath, let alone stand. It was so painful to get the bike up and ride out of the woods.

Turns out I put like 10 massive knots in my back. Even with all the stretching I was doing it wasn't cutting it. Went for a massage and my back was better almost instantly. Now I try to go once a month.
