So for us 3rd gen'ers we have an LCD screen that taps in directly into the steering wheel controls that lets us see information (private obvious right? Not good enough to be a captain.) I did a search and couldn't find any info on it here, but has anyone contemplated or attempted to program what you can view on the LCD screen or is it hard coded for the specific information that is displayed there?

I was thinking that it could double as in-dash instrument cluster with real time info. It already has a trip computer, why not incorporate other instrument gauging e.g. coolant temp, transmission oil temp, MAF sensor data, etc. Am I dreaming or is it possible?

I think you’ll need someone who’s very familiar with computers to do this. There’s no way to change it on techstream. So to get access to it and alter it will be difficult.
