I'm looking to install this 7th injector kit myself on my 1998. Whats the difficulty per say? I can change out rear wheel bearings and seals and fix the front axles and ball joints etc. But i want to know what i'm getting into before I dive off in this. I cant find the install guide anywhere to see what i'm getting into. I figured there were lots of guys on here who has installed this kit. So id like to know. I'm pretty handy and feel like I can do about anything I can get a guide for. What are the pros and cons of this kit? the link for the kit I'm looking at is below. Thanks in advance for the help.

Pretty much a straight forward install. I recommend paying the extra $$$ and buy yourself the ecu harness extension from urd and have urd solder on the ftc harness to the ecu extension. It's a cleaner install vs cutting your original harness. And the plus side to that is, if you later wish to remove the charger/ftc, just unplug and be done with it.

If you rather cut your harness, make sure to follow the appropriate year of your vehicle. Don't base your install and wiring diagram from a different year as color wire and ecu pin placement may have change.

Only hard part in my opinion (that depends on you) is how you run the injector harness and vacuum line. Cutting the fuel line is easier.

    Note: thought about meth injection??

The installation, especially the wiring part, is specific to your year. I think I have the wiring diagram for my 02, but it wouldn't help you much. You will get the correct pinout for your year with the kit. The rest of the install is pretty straightforward - I recommend running the injector harness through the boot for the main ECU harness (going through the firewall right behind your glove box). The controller unit has to have a boost reference, so you'll need to T into the line going from the boost port on the back of the charger to the fuel pressure regulator. This line is very short so getting it all to fit is a bit of a pain, but not impossible. Check the restrictor T fitting that you get in the kit, mine was bad out of the box and caused some funky issues until URD noticed they got a bad batch.

Any other questions, feel free to PM.

I don't think at this time i'll mess with the Meth injection. 02hilux
