Nice. Thanks for that info. I bet that Truetrac helps out a ton keeping the tires grounded with that supercharger.

I'd like to do this to my '06. It is an auto trans with the factory e-Locker. I've read of people swapping the diffs from 4cyl Tacomas. I didn't know if the 4cyl came with a locker option. I've also wondered if the rear end is the same as the rear end in the elocker 1st gen Tacomas. If so, I was thinking I could get a rear from a 8" locker 1st gen and a 8" front from a 4cyl both with 4.10's

What did you do to correct this? I have 4.88s in my 4cyl (r155) and with 295/70/17s, the speedo reads 10mph quicker than im traveling

Sure thing, glad to help. The 4 cylinders did not come with an elocker option in the 2nd gens afaik. Also not sure if diffs out of a gen 1 would work either. They very well might though.. Would be a great way to regear if you can source some cheap diffs with 4.10s

Zero, that’s why these threads can be confusing. Idk if Toyota changed the way speed is calculated through the truck between facelifts, I automatically assumed it had to be wheel speed sensor based after there was no difference in speedo readout before and after.

If you ever get bored on a weekend swap that 4.88 third into your 13 and check the speeds lol but I’m willing to bet that’s the case now. It’s much easier to correct electronic calculations than to replace a gearset. Does the hypertech recalibrator work on a truck using a speedo gear?

Lol will keep you posted if I ever get this bored...

Im also thinking this is the case now. I think the hypertech will correct for different tire sizes or gear changes. Not sure how it does this though..
