What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

The TC UCAs are the one thing that’s not new. I’m actually the third owner. The slugs might just fall in at this point. They look to be in pretty good shape though.

 

My tube is mostly full of mud. I have the Deckplate mod though so doesn't bother me much.

The only way to really help that is to build something yourself. Lots of people use either rubber sheeting or ABS or UHMW or something similar. If you plan on just running 33s then you won't have to trim the glass much so you can use the lip on the fender to rest whatever you choose on the lip. Then secure it on the actual wheel well. This will allow for when your tire goes fully up it will just move the material out of the way with no real consequences.

There is a thread in the LT section that has photos of what people did. Ironically..i started it. Ha. Didn't remember that..

Also, if it starts to come off, and then gets tighter, retighten and give another shot of lube. It's usually loose rust accumulating in the threads. A little patience goes along way in dealing with rusty stuff, and six point sockets are a must too!!

I’ve always been under the impression that your rear brakes don’t do near the work that the fronts do. And with that being said, i personally don’t spend the money on high end shoes for the rear but spend that saved money on nice pads and rotors. I go with the economy line from wherever and call it a day.

I wonder if I'm the only one that gets kind of grossed out when someone uses the word "beef" to describe anything other than the actual food, lol

 

Could get yourself one of them fancy k&n hot air intakes. A liner would be a better option in my opinion though.

New exhau$t. Seller was a little bit of a sneaky Pete with some patching. Good thing I talked down seller’s price $2k. So just a good deal, not a great one.

 

Installed light pods and splash guard from geartechcustoms @cnote4l

 

I really need to get new splash guards...was gonna order some from @cnote4l but I keep putting it off...should do it soon though, mine are held on by zip ties and they keep tearing through.

 

I just picked up a set of those fender liners from ToyTec last week! They are miles better than the stockers

 

Definitely order them from @cnote4l and get the clips with them too. Perfect fit and the quality superb.

same here. my belts are so squeaky from all the damn mud puddles

 

It's H4.

But please don't run those headlights. You'll just blind everyone. The low beam LED chip doesn't have a shield to block the light from hitting the high beam reflector. Those are made for a projector housing.

Philips makes a better option but its more expensive but at least works correctly.

Though honestly, if you want better headlights upgrade the harness and put in 120 or 140w halogens.

So I'm doing this today. OEM Toyota parts I just picked up from the local dealership.

 

While waiting for stabilizer bar links, cushions, brackets, bolts and nuts I installed my driver and passenger side seat trim brackets from @mechanicjon. Really wish I had taken a "before" pic, but here's the "after" on the driver's side. Spent more time removing the residue from my duct tape reconstruction several years ago than actually installing the brackets. Solid as a rock.
