I've got Trail-Gear's steering pump from a few years ago (used to only fit the 22re, but I made it work for my 5vzfe). Has the red pulley on it.

Does anybody know if the old pulley will fit on the new power flow pump from TG?

    Bueller?

Anybody tried swapping the pulleys between TG pumps?

Yep, awaiting reply (closed on weekends), just impatient. Also thinking it would be good info for others building a hydro-assist and pump purchase.

Do you have both pulleys ??

    The Pump ??

    Measure things

Pretty hard to know if the pumps are still the same unless you have it sitting in front of you

Thanks sherlock. That would be simple. Let me just buy a pump without knowing if it will work with the pulley I have- then I can pay return shipping if it doesn't work. That would defeat the whole purpose of my post and asking the question. That's why I'm asking if anybody has gone through this already.

Seriously no offense- Of course I would check if I already had them both. I already made a bracket and went through various belt sizes to fit the older TG pump. If the newer pump bolts on easier but doesn't fit the pulley- then I need another pulley and maybe another belt. Hence my question being where can I save a buck- I'm not steve jobs here.

The whole story is I used the TG 22re performance pump (now it's worn out), and now they released a 5vzfe direct bolt pump. They sell the 5vzfe pump WITHOUT a pulley. I don't have the OEM anymore, hence I'm asking if the 22re TG pulley is the same for both- then I can swap and save. I had to get a different belt size last time around.

That is why I asked if you had all the parts.

I get these questions all the time from people that have everything in front of them.

    Sorry I tried to help

Sorry I snapped- I guess I can see how you drew that conclusion. I'll post when I can find out from TG.

If the new Pump comes without a Pulley

Is it made to use the factory 3.4 pulley ??

So you need to measure a 22Re power steering pulley

Then the 3.4 pulley and compare the sizes

If I am reading this correct

Just closing the loop here, spoke to TG and had them measure both models of the power flow vs the original performance pump.

Wyoming09- The pulleys for both TG pumps are not OEM size- basically an overdrive pulley for the steering pump. You can't just measure an oem under the hood pulley. Anyways, the pulley between both models trail gear offers are the same size. So with the newer TG pump you can just pull and swap it over. Saves a few bucks, and a belt.

The TG pumps both require a new belt. If you already have the setup you can re-use and interchange pulleys. It's been a good pump for hydro assist, and can run full hydro.

So it does work with the stock steering rack and is not just for full hydro?

I haven't tried this on an OEM steering rack, but I don't see why you couldn't run into a hose store and find the correct fittings. I use Colliflower or Tipco for hydraulics on our tractors, bobcats, etc. They can make anything work.

That being said- This pump is likely serious overkill with the OEM steering rack. I'm with a SAS'd Dana 60 and running the pump just to the steering box. I deleted my hydro assist after replacing the steering box, but I may re-tap it soon. Generally this pump helps when you have a cooler, a box, and other additions to the fluid capacity of the steering system. The bigger pump helps keep the fluid moving. I use it to get more torque out of my steering box so I can turn 42's pretty easy. I normally roll on the 36's for more convenience, and it turns them well.
