What size is the carriage bolt? It should be 1/4-20

Thats what i thought and it is. Its the mounting hardware from prinsu for their mounting feet for toprac. Checked at 3 different hardware stores and none of them 1/4-20 fit my channels? Tnuts said it looks like 15 series bolts but why would prinsu send me 15 series for the 10 series bars? Maybe im to hungover but im super confused now. Was gonna have my rack assembled and mounted and now im deciding whether to switch out bars or mounting feet? I have the 1020 47 bars that were recommended that are 1/4-20 tapped and they fit fine on side plates but cant get the mounting feet on ?

Figured it out.......I swapped out two older bars from my cabrac to my toprac and the carriage bolts fit fine? Apparently the plain silver bars and the black oxide bars have variances in coating which caused the bolts to be too tight and not fit in black oxide bars. Just so people are aware when you order and get the black oxide bars or you paint the bars be mindful. Also apparently carriage bolts have many varying tolerances between metal types so you might have to check around on the SS ones. I reread all the threads on this and seems a few people have had this issue but its not consolidated on the first page very well. Maybe something to edit for the OP?

Anyone know if there is a thicker noise reducing edge trim that will fit the wind deflector? I had to get new spacers to get my accessrac above my shark fin and also level with my toprac, now the edge trim isn't touching my roof anymore.

Yeah, like a "must have" list of accessories for us n00bz.

It's probably buried in the Prinsu BS thread somewhere...
