Need help with shock length!

I've purchased a lift kit for my taco.
I'm aiming to achieve a 3" lift.
4 wheel parts put together a kit for me and I'm looking at the extended and compressed numbers for the shocks they provided me and I don't think I'll be getting the amount of flex I'm hoping for.

After looking at my compressed and extended numbers it looks like I'm not going to have much flex. Im not wanting to go long travel, since I don't have intentions of buying Lower control arms or fiberglass fenders.
Looking online. There's similar shocks, but in extended travel. I feel that that is the best route if I'm aiming for 3 inches of lift. Looks like people running the setup I've purchased are at stock height or running a 2" lift at max.
I would like some input before I install these parts

Here are the alternate fox shocks I was looking at to run a 3 inch lift.

Front:
Fox 880-02-953
2.5 coil-over

Rear:
Fox 985-26-118
Smooth body 2.0 shocks

If you are 4wd then stay around 2 to 2.5 on the lift or you will need a drop bracket
If 2wd look raise it as high as you want.
Extended travel only gives about a extra 1 inch of travel.
You will need to cycle the suspension to get proper length shocks and to get bump stops correct.
Question..... why 4 whl parts??????

 

What is the standard Tacoma 4wd extended travel cool over length? 8”?

 

I believe so if 2nd gen. Maybe 9 or 10 if 3rd gen. I know my stocks on my 17 had a ton of down travel. Never measured though.

 

Any recommendations as far as bump stops go? I ended up installing the Fox 985-26-117 and icon rtx option 2 in the rear. Now I'm considering a u bolt flip and some super bumps to replace the stock pyramid style bump stop. I've heard that not having adequate spacers under your bump stop may cause damage to your shocks if they can bottom out

Since I had such a long wait time to get my parts through 4wp(purchased early October, received late December) I'll definitely hesitate to deal with them in the future.. I'm located in Coquitlam BC so there's a few other options as far as offroad parts distributors go. I've since dealt with BCC and nsor, very friendly and quick responses from both.

 

4wheel parts was the worst shop ive ever dealt with, I bought my 885s through them cause they had the best price and the guy was convinced that 885s don't work with 5100s... never again

 

You mentioned earlier that you wouldn't lift a 4wd Tacoma (I have a 4wd sport) any higher than 2.5". Is that because of CV angles? I'm assuming I should install a diff drop kit.. Would you recommend the ECGs bushing to replace the driver side needle bearing.

I was aiming for 3 inches since I have 285s
Thought it would help eliminate rub as much as possible.

 

mines lifted exactly 3 inches in the front, I had to do the ecgs bearing. skipped the diff drop cause idgaf and no one actually uses that shit unless you want to catch your carrier on a rock a rip your front end off

 

and fyi lift height doesn't always solve your rubbing issues, its more your wheel specs that's going to cause rubbing, more aggressive offset more your changing your scrub radius which leads to more rubbing. I didn't rub with stock wheels. I rub like a whore with scs wheels.

I'm a welder by trade so I'm not too concerned if I have to do a CMC and flatten out that pinch weld.
