Has anyone done this on a 2019 Model? I ask because I did the upgrade on my previous Tacoma and saw a noticeable improvement in the sound. However, my 2019 sounds pretty darn good stock. I wonder if Toyota went with better quality tweeters.

Awesome! Thanks for the heads up. It seems easy enough and I have the pry tools etc. so it should be a breeze.

Mine is a 2019. It has the same crappy speakers my 2016 Sienna had.

There are direct swap Focals, they are pretty expensive. I just ordered Kicker DS series From Crutchfield and they came with brackets and wiring harnesses.

I did the Kicker DS for the doors as well, really a nice upgrade over stock.

I did 43DSC69304 for the front doors and 43DSC6704 for the rears..
At the time Crutchfield had a "buy one pair, get 50% off the second pair" deal on Kickers, and they came with all brackets, wiring harness adapters, etc, etc. Straight plug and play.
Then I added some sound deadening to the doors (optional, but WELL worth the extra $64). All told I was under $250 for everything (Including the dash speakers) and the system sounds 150% better than before. No amps, nothing else added.
Now, is it as good as the factory JBL, or OEM+.. No, I'm sure it's not. But for $250 and a couple hours spent it was a HUGE upgrade.

2019 is my first Taco, coming from a loud FJ, I think the sound system and the Entune interface is bad. I have to crank the sound up to near 75ish percent to be able to hear it. I also miss my CarPlay that I have installed in the FJ.

Really? I like to "Feel" the beat and 50% is pretty loud in my closed cab. If I cranked to 75% I think I'd rattle the windows. Maybe take it to dealer and get it checked out.

Not to beat a dead horse, but these tweeters significantly changed the sound of my truck. Before, I always felt like all I could hear was the passenger-side kicker in my ear. And, now I don't mind a bit more bass since the sound from the tweeters is so much clearer and louder without having to turn up the treble/mid. Did the install last night, in a half-lit garage. Super easy. Be mindful of the metal insert on the driver-side pillar. It fell out, and I don't know if I put it back in facing the right way

It does make a good improvement. Be advised that the drivers side pillar cover has a little tab that can pop out just as you are getting it pushed back into place. I had to cram my hand in there to hold it in place as I was getting the plastic slid back in the bottom edge. Also it is best to use a wrench and not a socket on the front bolts.

    TUGmd7mDZt8cBbbJxfgxf5H62KINaXb3zlh9VwWA_0e29d3517544f37d3266f0ffc48cd03db2c2c368.jpg91R6a28BiClpvycaPgEm342kd-xlO-IOaB4Mfog4_6c8943e1de73fcff3462e26dd7f7278e21169de2.jpg

Also a 1/4 socket set with a 10mm socket with an extension and an u-joint helps with the rest of it. The pillar bolt covers all removed easily just by prying my fingernail under them along with a plastic tooth pick to then lever them up. This left no tool marks.

When I installed the speakers I used the opportunity of having the passenger side A pillar cover off to wire in my dash cam.

The dash cam USB wire I was able to drop down the side of the dash without any effort. Then I threaded it under the dash then tucked it under the console plastic and plugged it in to the plug in the console storage. It comes on only when the ignition is on. Clean and simple.
