2018 Rav4 LED DRL

So my wife got a 2018 Rav4 XLE totally loaded up like a Limited. I noticed that the DRL is using the low beam projector bulb but there is a LED strip inside the housing. I asked a salesman at the dealership & he said all the Rav4's have the same light housings but only certain trim levels use that LED strip. I can't remember which one he said but I'm guessing the platinum model.

Anyone figured out how to switch this from projector to LED strip yet? I'm working on my Tacoma lights this weekend & was gonna take a look at hers then also...

Can't remember the trim level but I think it's a hybrid.

It looks like the other headlight housings have the LEDs in them and I think that they do.

You just have to buy a specific wiring harness if I remember correct.

 

Ok thanks man I'm taking a look over there. Gonna pop the hood & look over the wiring this weekend. Might be as simple as swapping a plug connector around. Will post back when I figure this out...

Ha! Same friggin thing just happened to me. Got wife a 2018 xle loaded and she is pissed that it doesn't have the led drl like my taco... Lol.
From what I understand only the limiteds and SE trim have the leds.

 

Yep & the Platinum model as well I think. Kinda forgot about looking into this but might havta check for that harness
