Any Bluegrass/Old Time fans here?

Bluegrass fan here attend Delfest every year only an hour from home!

 

define big? Grey Fox is the biggest we attend so for, but have a few localish ones that are small.

Love it, I'm more of a 80s and 90s fan. Lou Reed and Carolina, Lonesome River Band, IIIrd Tyme Out (They played our county Fair last year, killer show) Tony Rice ECT. I love all kinds of music though. I might listen to a bluegrass album on my way to work and on the way home listen to Lil Wayne, 5FDP or Adel. You never know with me.

 

This prompted me to look up something. Coming into Wayne County, Ky. where I live there is a sign mentioning Don Parmley and his music, since he was born in Parmleysville, very close to where I live now.

 

Wyoming is FULLLLL of blue grass. Every tuesday is bluegrass night at a local bar with the house band, 1 ton pig. Its where a lot of the locals go out for swing dancing, its a long standing tradition/weekly event. So i do alot of swing dancing to blue grass lol.

Tons of local shows in idaho and wyoming over the summer with the Targhee Blue Grass festival and Music on Main.

My favorites are the steel drivers, turnpike troubadors, steel woods (sort of bluegrass)

Hmmm, a lot of them offer day passes, but the camping enables me to wonder at night listening to jam sessions.

I knew you guys were somewhere around here! I was very impressed by Billy Strings at Winter Wondergrass in Steamboat this year, fun festival.

Heading to Telluride Bluegrass Festival this June for the 4th straight year, and the line up is looking great.

Big Greensky, Trampled, Hot Rize, Elephant Revival, etc. etc. fan here.

 

Telluride is one on the list, includes red rocks and the gorge.

 

From a couple years ago, but a great way to ring in the new year.

I used to go out to hardly strictly every year until it got to the point where there were acts like bucket head and the chieftains. I mean, nothing against either, but it wasn't much of a bluegrass festival after that now was it?

I have a banjo and mandolin collecting dust, since most of my friends who I used to play with dont live near me anymore.
