I posted on the FB page but figured I post here. I’m looking for someone to fabricate a roof rack to mount my RTT on my camper shell. It needs to be a contractor style rack or something supported on the inside of the shell. Here’s some ideas I’ve seen on the web. I would like to keep the camper shell, the rack needs to be built around or built to help support the weight of the tent

Talk to @JeepAndrew for fab work here in Tucson. He's building sliders for my truck now and has done the sliders, front and rear bumper and bed rack on @Ace115 truck. Also a bunch of other work for many other people over the years.

    X2 about @JeepAndrew

He’s good at what he does so he’s busy but I’d tell you the same thing I’ve told others. The work is worth the wait. Get in line ASAP. He enjoys a challenge so the more detailed you can plan the more excited he’ll be to work on it.

No reply, looks like he hasn’t been on TW for a little while. Got a quote for a rack today, $1200 . Hopefully I don’t have unrealistic expectations, but I was thinking like around $350-$400

Give @JeepAndrew time. He’s probably down in some hole in the ground for the holidays. He made my rack and I have been very happy with it.

I have some ideas listed above. I’m looking at 2 kinds, it’s honestly up to budget and what the fabricator wants to build.

#1 Is a rack that is built OVER the camper shell. A simple platform with no side rails, so I can mount my RTT and then have a 2ft over hang over the cab for a small box.

#2 Is a platform rack built exactly the same on top, the only difference is, it has a “roll cage” like structure under neath the camper shell to help support the weight of the RTT.

Here are some more pics of some ideas I’ve found

I think you’re being optimistic with your $$ ballpark, I like that but I’d tell you with the recent increase in steel prices you’re likely double what you are expecting. If you get exactly what you want though I’d say it’ll still be worth it.
