I thought Cave Story was fun. I dug the music, very 8-bit-esque like the game was in general.

I need to restart Mario Odyssey. I couldn't get into it at first but i think it's cause i was in the middle of BotW, and personally, i think BotW blows it out of the water.

I also want to buy Golf Story from limitedrun, looks fun.

I think on pre-order i have Mega Man and another game but can't even remember now. It will be a surprise when it shows up at my door.

Another game i think i'm gonna buy is Civilization VI. Always been a fan of the Sid Meiers games.

Just picked up a switch and have been playing Mario odyssey so far. Question for you all, does hollow knight require motion control? I typically play the switch in handheld mode and don’t really enjoy having to shake or move it around to play a game. Otherwise hollow knight looks like a game that would be right up my alley.

No shaking required. I always play on the TV, but with the controls on the controller mount, or whatever it is called.

Thanks for the suggestion guys. Picked up and played hollow knight for a couple hours today and I’m already hooked. Great game! Frustrating at times, but fun.

MegaMan is ridiculously hard if you don't play it on easy.

Just bought myself a Switch for when on travel and crapping. Got Zelda and Hollow Knight to start and downloaded Rocket League to see what the hype is about.

I loved BoTW, but can certainly understand how some people wouldn't. There was a pretty small pool of enemies and not a ton of depth to the storyline. What I loved was the exploration and physics of the world in the game. They could have done so much more with it.

I bought the mario kart bundle over black friday. Always loved mario kart. Got smash brothers, still trying to figure it out. So far the only thing being smashed is the buttons on the controller.

I thought it was like a 6.5/10 sort of game. I started exploring and doing the shrines. Got pretty bored of it pretty quick. I personally thought the story line was just ok. Nothing special. I also dont feel like theres much replay to it either .

    But that just me :)

Ive been playing Final Fantasy XV pocket edition and Mark of the Ninja (remastered).

I grabbed my Switch on Boxing Day (day after Christmas in Canada) since they finally had a deal I felt was worth jumping on. $50 off the console and with the game bundles an extra $30 off the game included for the bundle price. We went with the Mario Party bundle since the wife loves the game. Not sure what we will get next. I’d like Smash Bros and a GC controller (crazy they want over $160 for both together), Zelda, and Final Fantasy X remastered when that hits. My wife wants Hey You Pikachu but she’s confused by the way the game plays. Does she need the pokeball? Is it just Pokémon Yellow remastered? I’ll have to dig into it more but she doesn’t want to lay down the crazy game prices without knowing for sure.

Oh and my pricing comment wasn’t a dig at the Switch. I game mostly now on PC where games tend to go on sale pricing after a few months and rarely do I have to pay full price for a game. With the Switch it seems like Nintendo is able to hold the price of their exclusive games up around $80 in Canada indefinitely and some games like Pokémon and Smash Bros are only good with accessories that might end up costing more than the system itself. Definitely a frustrating buy in but a really cool console at the same time for all that it can do.

Well i just played and beat Fire Emblem: Three Houses. Play time for me was ~28 hours but i did skip through quite a few of the smaller cutscenes. And i had the attack animations turned off...you still see damage done and taken but no more short attack/defending cut scenes.

I played the Black Eagles house story

Have to say I rather enjoyed since i went in knowing nothing about it or anything. I only played on the Normal mode with the casual combat (the mode where deaths arent permanent)

It did get slightly repetitive towards the end though. The game basically is "month" where you get 3-4 days to decide what you want to do. Explore which lets you get quests, talk to your students, buy supplies, ect. Battle...do battles. Seminar...basically a class to boost your stats. then the last will be the next story mission. Finish the story mission and repeat.

I would highly recommend playing on Hard Mode. Of course i discovered afterwards but its more like Hard Mode is "normal" than hard. Sadly some of the battles towards the end just felt a bit easy. But i also had done a fair amount of leveling and stuff of my main character. But it still felt like i was a bit toooo tanky for not being a tank class.

The story is also pretty good. The main story by itself is pretty short and with nothing to unexpected happening. But adding in all the side stories from all the students relationships and it was enjoyable. Kind of fun seeing the students progress and develop relationships with each other.

Overall for my first venture into the Fire Emblem games i enjoyed it. I'd give it a good 8.5/10

BotW II coming out... can't wait.
    Links Awakening remastered... interested.

I also bought Toe Jam & Earl and Golf Story physical copies from LimitedRunGames, Smash Brothers Ultimate.

I actually haven't been playing the Switch too much. Been focused on COD BO4 Battle Royale at the moment.

Bought and finished LoZ: Links Awakening for the Switch. I'm utterly confused how they charged the same price for Links Awakening as they do for Breath of the Wild. BotW is 100x better and 100x bigger game. I was actually slightly disappointed in Links Awakening.

As I mentioned in a previous post about being interested in Sid Meiers Civ VI... I ended up buying it. I would totally recommend it to anyone who is into that type of game. I have some nostalgia from playing Civ II back on PC in like the mid 90's and this game is actually very true to the old school Sid Meier franchise.
