What’s everyone using for wetsuits? Is my 4mil enough or should I be bringing my boots and gloves or even the 5mil?

4 mil will be plenty, bring some booties just in case. If youre planning on surfing the central coast a hood for sure. But coldest it will be in san diego in february is the low 50s

Yep, as soon as I get above santa barbara, booties and the 4/3 are the way to go. I rock the 3/2 down in SD. My pscho ziperless w technobutter is super warm. Havent used the booties this year yet, but mostly cause my jetski is down in a bad way.

I'm thinkin about gettin a new Vissla 3:2. It's got the flashbomb/technobutter/whateveryouwanttocallit all up in it and it's under $300... Or I might end up buying another ripcurl flashbomb. My dawnpatrol 3:2 is pretty good, but on those real cold days I get a bit chilly.

You could get a tailored suit from Coral Reef in Westminster for like $350 I think. That thing will outlast everything and fit like a glove. I'll never buy an off the rack wetsuit after going tailored

That’s way too much work for a wetsuit for me. And then I have to go to Westminster. Rip curl suits fit me great. And the outlet is close by.

Same here, get rip curl suits for cheap at the outlet in Santa Cruz. They fit great, are warm and very flexible.

    Water now is about 45*
Will get below 40 in a few weeks
If there is a little bit of sun out its not to bad.
If the surf is pumping and sets are rolling in with no lolls in wont paddle out
We had some good surf, warmer temps 40"s but crazy off shore winds 20mph + which makes it tough on a long board
If there is waves dosen't matter how cold it is guys will be out

Anyone here get down to baja often to surf? Post up some pics!

Went down to surf for the first time a year ago and it was a blast, fun waves and great food!

Would like to go explore a bit more and venture further south.
