They are actually very effective.. this princess shivers anytime the temp is below 60 degrees. She loves her sweater

Cats are easier. Auto feeder, auto water, auto litter box x2. Just leave the pets at home, they couldn’t care less.

Wife keeps pushing me to get a service dog. I’d rather someone stand on my testicles in a pair of golf cleats then clean up yet another creature’s fecal material. No thank you.

Most people who have been around dogs for a fair amount of time will tell you otherwise. Both our dogs get ridiculously excited when they see us start loading camping stuff... I have had to leave my dog behind several times when headed out on big game hunts, apparently she sits at the door crying for hours. When we have them with us, as soon as we turn onto a dirt road they both start getting really excited, anyways who would secure the perimeter when we got to camp if it wasn't for them?

Yeah, dogs are too dependent on their owners, or is it the other way around?

I’ve slept in far more hostile/dangerous places than anywhere we camp in this country... what are we securing the perimeter from?

You are most definitely correct about me being dependent on our pooches for joy / entertainment, more so than they are on me.

As for the perimeter security... One of the dogs is a pug and the other is a skittish weimaraner haha

Yeah, mine definitely knows when I'm going out, even just by the kind of clothes I put on. I feel kinda bad, but I bring her everywhere and often leave her in the truck unless it's hot out or I can bring her along on whatever I'm doing, she'd rather come along and stay in the truck all day than stay at home. She cries and howls for hours apparently if I don't bring her with. She gets excited about dirt roads too, but she tends to start to freak out on any road if I slow down and start driving slow, we've gone out looking for critters for her to get excited about too many times I guess, lol.

Too true, I don't know which of us is more dependent on the other at this point, lol

Indeed, my dog knows. Keys rattle or when he see me packin hes prob going on a trip. Its just him and I and im retired now so he gets to travel everywhere. sometimes its a challenge but hes worth it. If you have a good dog you know what I talkin about. I truly think he like I would fight till the death for eachother.

You can buy a similar quilted type type of insulating fabric by the yard that AT Overland uses in the Summit from Seattle Fabrics. You can also google search quilted insulated batting and get other results as options. Of course you then have to figure out how to easily attach and remove it.

Beaners, ties, or loops/toggles to the tent’s bows. Your liner will need to be breathable/vented or you’ll get nice and moist by morning. Also make sure you have an air gap between liner and tent.

I had also considered velcro, and maybe even super strong magnets for quick install/pack up lol

Velcro frosts and freezes, and becomes utterly useless. Beaners can freeze up too. I’d stick to something classic, so you can use it as a double purpose to hang the soaking wet liner up to dry. Magnets would have to have strong attraction to do the same.. then you are fighting them.

Find the poncho-liner material, that would protect you down to absolute 0 with ease.

Hey @corprin did you do the XM antenna re-route on your own, or did a shop do it? Reception has gone to shit since the Hab was installed. Went to several stores today and it was pretty much a complete waste of time. I was told this little magnetic antenna (model NGVA3) would be compatible, but of course after ripping out the dash and touchscreen, it's the wrong :censored: plug. Well, I should say that the actual connectors look compatible, like a super tiny co-axial connector, it's the housing around the connection that won't fit. Literally trying to put a round plug in a square hole.

No need for you to do that much work on my behalf, lol. It's not an emergency, it just would've been nice to have for this upcoming trip in a couple days. Maybe a blessing in disguise though because I do want one mounted properly out front when I finally get armor, so no point buying more antennas than what I need I suppose.
