I think we averaged 6" or so early yesterday. By lunch it wasn't doing much snowing... wish it would've kept going!

Just a bunch of rain here in Longtucky. Beautiful, clear day today, though.

ED394395-6F77-47C1-AF7E-2B952533D4C0.jpg OEM windshield finally cracked after 12 years and 224k miles. It starts on the bottom left and ends on the bottom right. Might be able to let it ride for a while. Can any of you recommend a good company for quality replacement?

That is the best windshield you'll ever have.
    Don't replace it.
Replacement will crack worse within 6 months

    WATCH OUT FOR THAT POTHOLE!!!!

Don't bother with Safelite. Their prices are marked up quite a bit.

I used Precision Auto Glass and left the truck unlocked. They came when I was at work and it was flawless when I got home. No trash, extra goop anywhere, the seal was set correctly, etc. $232 for a 1st gen windshield installed in front of my place in the street.

I know right. I’m very surprised especially since it’s lived here all it’s life.
I guess as long as it doesn’t start creeping upward I’ll just leave it.
Cool thanks for the input. I can’t remeber reading anything good about safelite. I’ll look in to precision if I decide to replace it.

I'll have to look and see who did mine. I paid like $120 out of pocket but did have to vacuum up some broken glass afterwards

Here's what I have I have in my pack:

Meds (all individually packaged like this):

Chewable Aspirin (for chest pain/heart attack)
    Tylenol (fevers, pain relief)
    Benadryl (for allergic reactions)
    Ibuprofen (pain relief)
    Imodium (diarrhea)
    Medilyte (electrolyte replacement)
    Meclizine (Nausea/motion sickness)
    Salt packets (electrolyte replacements/heat stroke)
    Sugar packets (low blood sugar)
    Triple antibiotic ointment (cuts/scrapes)
    Hydrocortizone cream (Itching/bug bites)

    Bandages:
    1x3" bandaids
    2x3" bandaids
    Liquid bandage/skin glue
1/8" steri strips (instead of stitches)
1/4" steri strips (instead of stitches)
    Roll gauze x3-4
    ABD pads (abdominal pads) x2-3
    4x4 gauze
    3" elastic bandage
    2" coban (self-adhesive bandage wrap)
    SAM splint (for broken bones)

    Other:
    Alcohol prep pads (alcohol wipes)
Florescent orange duct tape (flat pack)
Ziplock of nitrilite gloves in my size
    Sharpie, pens, small notepad
Trauma shears though bandage scissors would be fine too.
    Hemostats x3
    Paracord
1oz bottle of alcohol hand sanitizer

Then equipment I wouldn't expect others to have these but they are in my pack:
Automatic blood pressure machine (for the wrist)
    Finger pulse oximeter
    Stethoscope
    Glucometer
    Oral thermometer
Saline flushes 10ml x5-10 (for wound cleaning).

    This fits into a small medical/side bag that's 19" x 10 x 9" high with room to spare.

Then not in my medical kit per se but always in the truck too is a sharp pocket knife, and a bottle of water for emergencies. Usually one of those arrowhead 3 liter bottles but sometimes I cycle it with a 1 gallon jug of distilled water. Also I have two emergency food rations like you can buy at Walmart.

My hiking backpack kits are all the meds, bandaids, coban, steri strips, roll gauze x2, sam splint, alcohol wipes, sharpie, one pair of nitrilite gloves, and duct tape.

My tiny pouch in my backpack has meds minus medilyte, meclizine, and just a some bandiads and alcohol pads.

My price of $232 was fully out of my pocket. I don't have windshield / glass replacement add-on on my insurance because I don't tailgate people on gravel roads like my housemate does (and keeps getting chips).

I should have been clearer; that was full price, out of pocket. No insurance involved

Damn. Share your source! Hopefully I won't be in the market to replace a windshield anytime soon, but I'll file the info away.
