If my managuense cichlid wasn’t such a dbag, I’d head on down to pa and give you some cash; that’s a nice lookin pleco for sure.

If your going to go up in tank size, keep an eye out on CL for deals. They are out there and you could have some time before he requires a 70 gallon.

These are some awesome tanks, I'd been wanting a tank for a while and finally took the plunge a couple weeks ago, here's what I've got going so far. Anyone else messing around with aquaponics?

I’ve got a 240 Cichlid tank. Currently have about 35 Mpimbwe Frontosas various size with Synodontis Catfish, as well as bristlenose and zebra plecos. Been revamping the tank this past year with new lighting, a trickle filter setup, and upgrading to the Neptune system. Not a great photo since the lights are just ramping up, but you can get the idea.

Trickle filters are such a pain. I could never get mine to be quiet enough. But with that being said I had my heat inline and air pump after that which was great for the tank.

I have had no issues whatsoever with my trickle filter. I used to have canister filters prior and the trickle filter is so much easier to use and maintain. Noise level I don't have an issue with.

Hind sight being 20-20 I wish I stuffed my overflow with the media balls to baffle it.

I hate the canisters too. I ended up going back to HOB filters. (2)75g units for my 75g
