Borla baby . I love mine. And I’m an old guy who doesn’t like loud vehicles. It’s more expensive because it sounds a heck of a lot better, not just louder.

Personally not a fan of the aftermarket exhaust on the 3.5, but YMMV. Get what you like.

Agree, never witnessed an aftermarket that didn't drone, most between 1.8k-3k rpm. Thats typically peak of each shift and highway. Drives me up a wall. Keeping stock.

Unfortunately you get more noise at the expense of low end torque with this system...probably best to throw it in the bin.

Don't listen to the haters. I have this exact exhaust, but in the SS version instead of aluminum. Get a 12" resonator in after the muffler and that will take care of the drone. For some reason, most of the people on this site want the truck quieter than a Honda generator. Ok, whatever dudes, it's your truck, but why not just buy a prius and lift it instead?

My exhaust turns heads everywhere, and even the guys with the expensive TRD Pro exhaust can't say that (the TRD catback is barely louder than stock, sounds like a small ecoboost). I coupled it with the AFE Momentum GT with the front intake and it howls like an animal above 3000rpm, sweet!

I'll shoot a clip later today and upload it tonight.

Btw, there are (2) versions of the muffler in that MBRP setup. You want to call them and ensure you get the "earthier", throatier version of the setup. The default muffler they ship is apparently louder and whinier.

Hope this works. Have never uploaded anything to my youtube account and this is the first time I used this (new to me) rode mic. I listened to the files and they sound quite accurate. First one is of the camera inside the truck while I drive, last couple seconds are with the right window rolled down going up a short hill. Second one is a drive-by. Enjoy.

Cool headlights! What brand are those?

I wish someone made an exhaust for this V6 that made it sound smooth and sporty, like a Nissan VQ V6.

Couple points before everyone runs out and buys one of these:

    1. My truck is manual. If yours is automatic, it probably won't sound quite like this because the 3rd gen tacoma's are supposedly shift happy and won't hold gears. Running in manual shift mode might be a way around. The deepest sound from this setup is when I'm running heavy throttle at lower rpm's (1750-2250 or so).

    2. You NEED a resonator. I think I have a 12" SS magnaflow on there. There's very little room after the MBRP exhaust and that's the biggest that would fit. Freeway/Highway drone will drive you insane with this muffler, without the resonator.

    3. The headlights are the standard OEM Toyota. The low beam bulbs are the H11 (I believe) Xtreme LED PRO from xenon depot. The fog lights are the Rigid TRD Pro fog light setup with their accessory amber clip-on lenses.

I’m thinking of buying one as well and enjoyed this thread thanks guys. One comment I want to make is that I have never seen a ford raptor without an aftermarket exhaust.....and yes I only mean the V6 version. Getting one for my 2019 soon!

I have the MBRP dual exhaust.
And I really like the sound of the exhaust.
Drone was pretty bad for the first month or so, but mellowed out after 500 to 1000 ish miles.
For the remaining drone, instead of an inpipe resonator, I got two resonator tips.
They actually work, from inside the cab it is more rounded off with no drone.
Also maintains a deeper tone on WOT throughout the the whole RPM range.

Although, with the resonators, I did lose most of crackle, pop and downshift wubs.

There are a couple others that have the MBRP single or a magnaflow single setup around my area, and as a spectator, they do kind of sound like wet fart...

The dual exhaust is much better, the singles are listed as more of a race application on website - which really means they are louder, not that they add any horsepower or anything. I couldn't wait to get rid of mine. For the same price I had a custom exhaust put in through a local shop. Sounds better and a much more quality product.

IF you go with this exhaust, spend the extra and get a good quality resonator to place before the muffler. I'd recommend a 2.5 or 3in Vibrant Ultra Quiet.

I had to use one even with my Borla weld in muffler at present, and I like good "clean" sound(I even like a bit of Drone), but the drone in these trucks just reverbs soo bad.

I first tried a straight through 20inch Dynomax Bullit (WAAAY TOO LOUD), then a standard 40 Series Delta flow, and finally settled on the Borla Weld in, but even it was still a little "drony". I then added the Vibrant Ultra Quiet resonator, and hit the sweet spot. I kinda want to try a Flowmaster Super 44 WITH this same resonator, but I'm not sure I want to spend any more money on this aspect, as these engines just dont sound GREAT or PERFECT with ANY aftermarket exhaust, just "okay". This is from someone that puts an exhaust on every vehicle I've had in the last 26 years (including 2- Mustang GT's,). That said, nothing sounds as good as a 4.6L with dual 40 series flows, and a good Xpipe with off-road pipes to this day in my opinion(Dam I miss that car):
